Smurfs In Spaaaaaaace: finished stuff

I figured a seperate thread of finished stuff would be in order now that I'm messing around with a white paper lined studio box type thing. At some stage I'll print out a nice gradient or other background. But in the meantime I like the simple white background.

Yes, I know about the mold lines. A lot. :P I also realised after posting these that some of the guys are missing the muddy boots that I belatedly gave to other models, heh.

This update is all about Squad II, 2nd Company, who I'm calling Vorolanus.

The eight finished guys I have so far. Missing: one heresy era forgeworld marine and poor Headless Nick who's waiting on a crested helmet.

Combat squad A! They got rid of those other, normal losers.

Ol' Sarge! I need to start naming my troops. Time to hit the Ultramarine name lists!

I'll likely end up swapping this guy out to combat squad B, he makes a pretty cool looking squad leader.

Oh look, a rogue scout. Helmet courtesy of the good people at Pig Iron miniatures. They do good service and nice metal products!

I think these are great. The red and gold is really popping but the grey weapon casings look a bit flat - maybe need some of that nice black you've used in the armour recesses to add more contrast. Nice shadowed face on the helmetless guy. Neat basing.

Great work Megapope. A promising start with good style and quality - but also with some room for improvement - just what we like to see ;)

Your sergeants highlights are sharper than the rest, and he looks better doesn't he? This proves you can paint to a higher standard than you have on your RAF dudes.

Think about how much use you'll get out of these guys (as long as you don't never ever never ebay them, that way lies madness). Justify the extra time to sharpen the line highlights, then enjoy the fruits of your labours for ever and ever.

Your decals look very sharp. Are you using Micro Sol and Micro Set?
