The full article can be found here. Check it out, let me know what you think and if you have any critiques, experiences or opinions I'd love to hear them. UltraRich
Hi Thats a good article and I'll have to have a go at creating a wash with it. I picked some up this weekend to "fix" my finecast vanguard veterans. One thing I didnt see you mention is the shocking shrinkage. Even if you overload the hole this still shrank back and I had to apply a couple of coats to get it flat. Like you said a good going over with a fine grade wet and dry did the trick Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239708-liquid-green-stuff-by-lilloser/#findComment-2891951 Share on other sites
lilloser
I did not notice the shrinkage (in the example I gave, shrinkage wouldn't have been that noticable). Cheers for the heads up, i'll amend the article and try and get some photographic evidence. glayvin34
Excellent, thanks so much. I also find Milliput washes to be too time-consuming to really be worth it, good to hear this stuff will serve the same purpose without having to do any kneading. @Ultrarich- Thanks for the note on the shrinkage, I would have assumed this stuff doesn't shrink so that one could resculpt a toe or something else missing from the aforementioned VV. Sounds like it's just good for gap-filling. plasman
Thanks LiLoser for this review which I found quite helpful. I was considering buying GW liquid GS for casting, it's a good think I've read your article before buying it. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239708-liquid-green-stuff-by-lilloser/#findComment-2892401 Share on other sites
UltraRich
I think it has its place for filling holes in flat surfaces or for acting as a leveller but not really for anywhere you need to sculpt. I had holes in the feet of 2 of the vanguard veterens (where the boot sole meets the foot) I still had to use good old greenstuff for these. Where liquid green stuff worked well was on one of the sholder pads that was pitted and too fiddly to smooth with sand paper. I wash over with watered down GS did the job just like lilloser suggested. As a rant on the side I still think its off that we are buying another product to fix a superior products issues. Razblood
Looks like this stuff would be perfect for smoothing out accidental fingerprints and such. May have to invest in some when I have the cash.
