Help in Identifying old model

People like that seller are scum

Only if he intentionally sold it as a one off model. He may have no knowledge of 40k whatsoever and be selling it for a friend.

I've seen lots of mislabeled 40k stuff on ebay.

Now if he is a 40k store seller then thats something totally different.

You got hosed which bites, looks like a bad sparay job as well. Now I should point out that is is legal to to make casts and copy whatever you have purchased for your own personal happiness, it is only illegal to sell the copies :P

Think the arms are from the metal wolf guard with the crazy hair. The rest is from the SW sprue.

And as for the texture....that's either a poor and furry undercoat spray or someone is making illegal resin casts.

The 2003 on the base is the date when the base mold was made. You'll find most have this.

Basically, you've been done if you paid for a kit bash which anyone can do and the seller is a moron. Sorry to say.

Oh yeah. Especially those "pro-painted" models, which look like there were dropped in paint pot by a half blind squirrel.

Hey, ease off! It's really, really hard for blind squirrels to find work in this economy. Geez.

The official method here is to contact the seller and be like "Hey, waitaminute: this isn't a rare character at all, he's bits from a kit and he's very over-priced. I feel mislead." Either the seller responds explaining his/her misunderstanding, and/or offers a return/settlement...or you get no response back and can take him/her through the eBay/PayPal ringer. The real question is "Do you care enough about such a tiny amount of money?" My impression is you do not; and neither would I. The eBay/PayPal ringer can be an annoyance for both parties, more often than not.

Feel free to post questions here before spending money on this kind of stuff. Players on here know what's what and will protect you from crap like this (even though the squirrels could probably use the money).

As for patience: choose to have some. <3 Just. Do. It.

That's the key to get good deals on e-bay. I recall meself screwing some good deals because I was not patient enough. It is best to wait till the last minute before entering the auction - the other guy could already be sleeping on wrong hemisphere ;)

Or just wait it out and be thorough. Frankly I feel like I'll bid on a dozen assault squads before I win even one of them. If it's not half price or better (including shipping), it's not worth it. May as well get a NIB kit from my LFGS if I'm impatient.
