ab0cjh
Hi guys, I've noticed a lot of conversions using some white/grey sheet plastic like material. Can anyone tell me what it is and where I might get hold of some? Cheers, ab0cjh Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239721-white-plastic-commonly-used-in-conversion/ Share on other sites
EmbattledSoul
plasticard, or sheet styrene... gale force nine makes packs of it. http://www.flamesofwar.com/online_store.as...ategoryID=13099 since gf9's website is currently under construction. chromedog
Sheet styrene. Also known as "high impact polystyrene". Can be had from Evergreen or Plastruct in the US, as well as other plastics manufacturers. GF9 sell packs of it, they also sell packs of ABS sheet (NOT the same stuff, but similar - if it resists the effects of normal "plastic model glue" it's probably the ABS version - it needs a more 'active' solvent to bond it). Sheet sizes vary as does thickness (Evergreen uses thousandths of an inch for their sizings - 040 is 1mm, for example). Lucien Eilam
Anywhere that sells model trains or remote control cars is a good place to look for it. Plastruct sheets are about half the price of GF9's at my local hobby shop, and I can get the full range in the exact size and quantity I want rather than a "variety" pack, so don't pay their mark-up unless you really have to.
