Hello everybody.

This is a quite new experiment. I've never try to field dual Land Raider list in tournament, so I thouht, I should give a try.

So, what do you guys think?

5xLong Fangs: 4xMissile Launcher - 115pts

Land Raider Crusader: multi-melta - 260pts

Simple Tactics are bringing down everything which could destroy my precious Raiders, with long ranged fire and pushing forward with those Bulking Behemoths and Release the fury of the Sons of Russ!

Second Grey Hunter squad sitting on the home Objective while Rune Priest casting Living Lightning from its rhino hatches.

First Grey Hunters Squad role is backing up the rear or as a second wave in assault or using it as a diversion.

Land Speeder is good for enemy gunline troops in cover, tank hunting or contesting objectives. Propably Land Raiders will soak up lots of enemy fire, so this little flyer could be quite handy in many circumstances, I think. I only got one :P

I'm basically facing Blood angels, Tyranids, Falcon Spam Eldar and Thunderwolf Space wolves and maybe Grey knights.

With succesfull tactics I think this might work.

But still I'm asking for guidance from the great halls of the fang and other Lords.

I can't claim to know all there is about tactics, but at first glance, keep in mind that over 1/4 of the cost of your army is spent on TWO vehicles.

If your concern is Arjac, dump 2x GH from his pack and put them all in a drop pod, toss the LRC and with the points left over add a 6th man to both LF packs and you should have points left to burn.

If it's a "these are all the models I have" issue, then it'll take more rearranging than I can theorize, right now.

I myself have been doing something similar with my Chaos, running 2 LRs. With many armies going to MSU, and other armies going for quantity of shots over quality, I think that Land Raiders could buck the current meta. I would definitely run it a few times and see what you think. one thing I might consider is trying to put some Razorbacks in there, to give you some more ranged firepower.
Lol 8 missile launchers and 2 TL lascannons and you guys call for more ranged firepower. Honestly, two raiders can be fun. Just be careful what you point them at, and if need be, they are awesome for castling since they can hide any model behind them.

Okay.

So I took some of your advices.

Here is an updated list. Is it better? Maybe. Idon't know, though it seems to be more boring. ;)

HQ

Rune Priest: chooser, living lightning, Jaws - 110pts ( goes with Grey hunters squad 2.)

ELITE

Wolf guard squad:

-TDA, combi-melta, wolf claw - 43pts

-TDA, storm bolter, power weapon - 33pts

-TDA, Cyclone missilelauncher, storm bolter, power weapon - 63pts

Drop pod - 35pts

Arjac (goes with 10xGrey Hunters in Land Raider Crusader) - 188pts

Wolf Guard: Power armor, power fist, combi-melta - 43pts (goes with 7xGrey hunter squad 1.)

TROOPS

10x Grey hunters: 2xmeltagun, MOTW, Standard - 180pts (inside Land Raider Crusader)

1. 7xGrey Hunters: meltagun, MOTW, Standard, Rhino - 170pts

2. 6xGrey Hunters: plasmagun, Rhino - 135pts

FAST ATTACK

Land Speeder: multi-melta, Heavy flamer - 70pts

HEAVY SUPPORT

6xLong Fangs: 4xMissile Launcher - 140 pts

Razorback: twin-linked lascannon - 75pts

6xLong Fangs: 4xMissile Launcher - 140pts

Razorback: twin-linked lascannon - 75pts

Land Raider Crusader: multi-melta - 260pts

Now I really have to protect my Land raider and I think adding one Long Fang with Missilelauncher and and Razorbacks should do it quite nicely.

One Mission is also Dawn of War deployment, therefor those Razorback are mandatory for Long Fangs to setting up quickly and firmly.

I know that using only one pod is a quite suicide for my Wolf guard Termies, but they will really scare the :) out of my opponent when they manage to destroy something precious in the beginning of battle. They will do their part and hold up as long as they have to. My opponent just have to react and turn His/her barrels at them when my tanks are rolling forward.

This list is a better way to do it!

I guess it's a personal preference, but I just don't see the point of podding your wolf guard to the front lines WITHOUT Arjac, forcing him to get to the front lines 1-2 turns later (if at all, should his transport get popped). He has zero ranged potential over 6" and is literally wasted for 2+ turns while he sits in the back of a LRC. The nice thing about him is that he's threatening, but when you put him in a vehicle, that threat isn't realized until he comes out (belatedly).

Still IMO, but move him from the 10man unit -- that can still ride the LRC or drop it to a LR Redeemer for cheaper cost and trade Arjac for a normal WG TDA to fill the LR:R to capacity -- into the GH pack #1 and switch their rhino for a second pod (same cost) to join the remaining WG in the assault. This gives Arjac a chance to get into melee more quickly and provides support for the first pod's WG pack with the GH unit rapid firing out of their pod. In addition, the two packs pouring out of pods at the enemy gunline will distract his ranged units, allowing the LR to cruise on up without much fear of getting popped, and likely the land speeder and LF packs ignored all-together.

Another personal preference is the lack of HQ. We're allowed 4, and this is a decently-sized army, so to only have 1 HQ for 1851 pts seems a bit meh.

Question on the list. You added 2x LFs, but I don't think you indicted what weapons they have, since you still say 4x MLs instead of 5x or some other weapon.

Also, don't think I'm trying to say your choices are bad by making these suggestions. It's just a difference in playstyles, etc so I hope you don't take offense.

There were 16 players in the "quite friendly based" tournament.

We all had so much fun. This was actually my first decent tourny and I managed to get to the second place!

I used the updated armylist (not dual Land Raiders anymore) and it was a huge success. perfect for my playing style.

We got five battles and I won three of them and two were massacres.

Player, who won was playing Grey knights with purifier spam and castellan crowe. So many power weapons, strenght 5 storm bolters ans psycannons seemed to be nigh unstoppable. he won every game and I had to play two battles against him. Those I lost pretty bad :P

One of my opponents was playing orklist with four Battlewagons, ghazkull and lots of boys. I thought this Battle would be lost though it wasn't even started yet. So I turn the odds upside down.

It was spear head deployment and I won the roll off. There were four Battlewagons In line in the centre of the table. So I did what the Sons of Russ are bred to do. Charge!. I managed to get in assault with Arjac with ten Grey Hunters in Land Raider. First Grey Hunters and Arjac popped out a Wagon Ghazkull and 19 boys in it. Then Land raider shot almost a half of the boys in to oblivion. Then they assaulted and wiped those puny orks out and Ghazkull with them. In ork turn, four meganobs assaulted at Arjac's Hunters. Meganobs were obviously mayonaised by Arjac's mighty soupscoop.

First turn was over and two Battlewagons, Ghazkull with 19boys and a squad of Meganobs were obliterated and almost not a scratch in me. In the end of the third turn, there were no orks anymore. Hah, pure massacre.

What comes to Wolf Guard Termies in Drop Pod. I have to say, they were almost in every battle the heroes of the game.

With three combi-melta and cyclones they destroyed opponent's important units and and laid confusion in to enemy lines.

Those moments they arrived my opponents were forced to change his battleplans and to make desperate decisions to get rid of them. And they are quite hard to chew on, I'd say.

I Just wanted to say

Thank you all for couple of good advices. It had been a great tourney.
