Odsox
It's nice to see the old Land Raider getting some attention. I love those old boxy vehicles. Right, RE: Boarding veterans. I love the yellow you've used and many, many props to you for dishing out the cash and effort to get those models looking great. The only niggling thing for me is the battle damage. I can see you've used the traditional scrapes of Boltgun Metal (I'm NOT calling it "Leadbelcher", dammit) and Mithril Silver, which is a solid battle-damage representation, but how about some serious damage? Chunks shot out of their armour, great hack-marks where the enemy have managed to notch their pauldrons, that sort of thing? Of course you may have already done this and my stupid, unaugmented eyes can't see the effect. Ooh, you know what'd be real nice? A power sword or chainsword blade half-embedded into the rim of a shield with the haft snapped off. That'd be great. Anyway, lovely paintjobs, characterful models and I look forward to seeing more lemons! Od.
Rhetoricus
I think I'm a little bit in love with your army Syth. * sigh*
Lachdannan
@Dude with a Brush: fair enough and thanks for your input. Might leave it for the time being and come back to it at a later stage. Got enough projects on the go to occupy my time for a while. @Odsox: Thanks for the kind words! I could have made the battle damage more extreme as you suggest, but sometimes I find there is a fine line between little battle damage and too much. I prefer to stray to the former. Thanks for the ideas though. @Rhetoricus: Cheers! Glad you like!
Lachdannan
Well, finally finished my next unit for the expansion. Here is a unit of Huscarls in terminator armour. Planning on using them as a bodyguard for Dorn. Also in the future going to make at least one more so I can field them legally as a unit in regular games. As always and c&c most welcome. Kierdale
Congratulations on finishing the unit, Brother Syth! They look great! You say Dorn is next to go under your scalpel/brush?
Lachdannan
@Task Force Gauntlet: Thanks! Spent a lot of time trying to get the poses right. @Kierdale: Cheers, it took awhile, but am very happy with it. Cant wait to use them in a game, just for the coolness factor really. And yes, Dorn is the last model required for my vow.
BattleBrotherJohn
Awesome Terminators BrotherSyth ( but then I expected nothing less that awesome from you ) . Really looking forward to seeing Dorn.
Lachdannan
Thanks BattleBrotherJohn, working on Dorn right now, so am hoping I can get him done in the next 11 days. Deadlines are great for that added extra motivation.
David the Despoiler
The Terminator helms, were they achieved by cutting apart the snouts on the plastic Assault Terminators and drilling holes, or are they actually Grey Knight helms?

They are Grey Knight Terminator Helmets my friend.
David the Despoiler
Thank you, I'd seen a tutorial on converting them and was curious whether this was a really well executed example of it or not.
Lachdannan
Yeah, they are just the GK terminator ones. Just easier really, and had the look I was after.
Lachdannan
Well its been a little while sicne I updated this thread, but I have compelted a few models and I have a new army shot so thought now would be a good time. First up is Rogal Dorn. Spent a bit of time on the cloak, and am fairly happy with the results. http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-429.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-431.jpg Next is my army shot. It certainly has grown a little since the first post. Quite happy with it, and its a great feeling to game with a painted force for once. http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-450.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-446.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-447.jpg Lastly is my Imperial Fist version of Vulkan He'stan. Got him when he was still metal, which made it a pain to remove all the Salamander iconography from him. Still, with a little green stuff and brass etch I think he looks more Fisty now. http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-463.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-467.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-464.jpg http://i1203.photobucket.com/albums/bb383/lachdan/Picture-465.jpg As always any c&c is most welcome. Lachdannan
@Captain Rolunde: Thanks! Got my battle damage down pat now, and quite pleased with it. @BattleBrotherJohn:Cheers! Finally got to use him in my first game of 6th Ed last night, along with a bunch of other newly painted stuff. Love his army wide abilities! Made my Land Speeders evil! Widowmaker
Very cool army Brother Syth. Always nice to see well painted Imperial Fists. Some great conversions and kit bashes. I love the weathering you've done on them. My mind boggles at the number of Space Wolf Terminator squads you had to pick up to make that Termi squad!!! Looking forward to seeing more. Cheers, Widowmaker
Lachdannan
@zxyogi: Thanks! Quite proud of them, and they are doing well on the tabletop as well. Hit a bit of a motivational snag at the moment though. Hopefully after a little break and some reading I can continue with them soon. @Widowmaker: Cheers! Glad you like them. For the Huscarl's I went the easy route and used bits sites for the wolf cloaks.

Ace Debonair
Those are some killer Fists - they all look like they've really been through the wars! My only real question is - what the heck is Dorn actually armed with? It looks like some kind of ornate two-by-four with a handle? :)
Lachdannan
Cheers! You can't see it from the angle I've taken, but its a chainsword. Though a two-by-four delivered by a Primarch would still smart :)

Probably makes an ok anti-tank weapon, in fact! ;) Also, now you've said what it is, I can see it's a chainsword. :) Not sure how I didn't recognize it in the first place, really.
