Loken86
Brothers and Sisters i've decided its time for me to turn back to the emperors light ive been playing as night lords for the last 5-6 years but now I want to make and finished a loyalist army and i have decided it will be a Heresy era Iron Hands but it will be themed on the dropsite massacre so all termies (i think i have 50 of them) and lead by Ferrus Manus himself now which codex should i use Dark Angels or Space Wolves? Hope this is the right place to ask this. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239927-heresy-era-iron-hands/ Share on other sites
Doghouse
I'd go with space wolves as it allows you to use non-powerfist wielding terminators. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239927-heresy-era-iron-hands/#findComment-2894895 Share on other sites
Brother Kirus
I'd go with space wolves as it allows you to use non-powerfist wielding terminators. Agreed! Loken86
Thanks guys I think I'm going to go with the space wolves dex for the reasons you have given me also I like how Logan Grimnar is able to switch his attacks from powerfist to frostblade which if you have read fulgrim its how ferus manus fights at the drop site massacre using his silver hands against the traitors while using the newly reforged fireblade to fight fulgrim. Hey doghouse I'm going to try using your true scale tut to create Ferrus Manus. Thanks for the advice folks Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239927-heresy-era-iron-hands/#findComment-2895340 Share on other sites
Honda
This is a very intriguing modeling idea for an army. I think all those silver termies would look pretty awesome all lined up. Do let us know when you kick this off, I'd like to follow the thread. <Like Doghouse, I find PH Iron Hands a very interesting modeling project> Cheers, Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/239927-heresy-era-iron-hands/#findComment-2895401 Share on other sites
Loken86
Cheers Honda I'm starting this really soon I'm reading Fulgrim again for inspiration and i'm collecting the bits I need and making a army list. I plan on having bionics on every terminator I also have two land raiders to make heresy era sponsons for. I am lacking ideas though for the primarch i.e. his armour look? Also when I come to painting the Morlocks how should i do this? Doghouse
Hey doghouse I'm going to try using your true scale tut to create Ferrus Manus. Excellent stuff! That'd be perfect for creating a primarch. I think the best rendition of Mannus that I have seen to date is cjthebj's version that he entered in the golden demons a few years back. Ferrus Mannus This is pretty much the route I'd take with the big guy as it looks spot on to me. As for the Morlocks, they were described as having gun metal coloured armour which to me comes across as a sort of dark bolt gun metal, maybe a mix of bolt gun and chaos black? Jarl Kjaran Coldheart
Thanks doghouse that pic will help me alot right so far ive got 50 terminators 2 landraiders and tuts for heresy era shoulder gaurds land raider sponsons now i need an image of fulgrims fireblade. ive looked at the space wolves dex if the termies cant deep strike can they use drop pods i havent found an answer in the dex Wolves cannot deep strike but can purchase drop pods. Its worded stupidly in my opinion, but the description of terminator armor doesnt say you cannot deep strike, but rather says WOlves prefer to fight with their feet on the ground. The option to deep strike isnt listed as it is in the Codex book, so we cant. the same section describes what we cant ride in while wearing TDA, which is rhinos and razorbacks. so land raiders + variants and drop pods are all fair game. Doghouse
Yeah that dates back to the days when SWs considered teleporters as unnatural so use drop pods instead. Honda
Morlocks: As Doghouse suggested, a dark boltgun is probably along the lines you are looking for, if I were going to do this, I would look into a very thin coat of Devlan Mud to give the metal a slightly brownish tint. For some reason that "impression" just sticks with me after reading "Fulgrim" again just recently. I liked that image of Ferrus that Doghouse provided, but thought I'd also offer another that I like: http://www.coolminiornot.com/articles/6068...w-coat-of-paint! Mac the knife
I look forward to seeing this as well. Gunmetal is a dark grey similar to Adeptus Battlegrey but with a slightly bluish tint. Adeptus Battlegrey with a light wash from the blue wash (forget the name atm) would probably be the closest. Then again everythings open to the interpretation of the guy painting the minis.
