Sack of Prospero

So after building a, and waiting 3 weeks for my suits of armour. I've finally ready to start. I'll start posting pics of the heap of bits, and conversions.

The theme obviously from the title will be the burning of Prospero, with urban basing schemes with broken glass, likely asphalt and cut/ground clear plastic. The idea is to try and catch the Rout in all feral glory but realist glory, so pouches, sheathed knives, sidearms, and weapons. I'm going to try and model some well known names, Fith Godsmote, Bjorn, nothing over the top as they mostly appear to be just proficient brothers at this point

Pics to follow watch this space.

So here is what the list has evolved to:

Rune Priest

Chooser of the Slain

Jaws of the World Wolf, Living Lightning

not sure if it is the angle, but that wolf claw you are using, is that standard or some special voodoo that you picked up else where?

the models look great. I love the old MK armor from Forge World.

The Wolf Claw is from Canis Wolf Born, a great source of custom Space wolf bits. Particularly so now that he's in finecast.

So played a 1250 game using a lot of the theory that goes into my full 1850 list against the new sisters. Wolves won but I've learned a lot about my army. The TWC Cav died to shooting but that kept meltaguns off my Rhinos and razorbacks allowing my Hunters to get right up in the mix of things, for 50 points each I can't complain too much, against marines where they have fewer units in general using anti-tank guns (because that what it takes to reliably kill him) on him instead of my tansports and battle tanks makes me happy. Add to the fact that he can pin down a tac squad break a Combat squad, kill Long Fangs, etc, you get my point.

6 Space wolves with counter attack is a crazy amount of attacks, and that a properly positioned LR is a threat until it is actually destroyed, just the threat of twin-linked lascannons in a central position kept my opponent honest when combined with an aggressive flanking component pushed my opponent right back. Though to be honest if I could get 4 preds I would take them.

So I've edited the list for those of you following, to represent some of my recent gaming. I've added a second rune priest, because keeping grey knights honest is going to be paramount at any tournament I play in. Added extra armour on the LRP so it can always move and shoot.

Pretty much everything is built now, I'll put some picks up this afternoon, once I do some green stuffing. Hopefully everything will be primed as well. I have 30 days or so to paint this army. Also here are the bases I plan on using for the army.

Interesting bases, where are they from?

The bases are from secret weapon. They have a good variety of based including rather good desert, and a good selection of more tradition FV bases such as slate or mountain.

yes I'm a big fan of their Runic Mountain Base's... These look pretty nifty though...

Any idea how they do when drilled into? I plan on pinning all my guys to the bases.

Use a manual drill and you should be fine, not a normal drill or dremel. I've used that little manual drill from GW and had no issues.
