Darkest Angel Posted October 8, 2011 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Hey guys this idea just decided to pop itself into my head after seeing the contemptors, all the pre-heresy armors, and that new pre-heresy Rhino. So I'm starting a pre-heresy Emperors Children Army, I'm going to try to make a blog out of it, my first project is Captain Lucius of the 13th Company. Here is what i have started. The only thing I am thinking off is that the wing is on his right shoulder and not on his left as Fulgrim had it. It could also be so that Lucious have it on his right shoulder on his right shoulder because of some niffty swordfighting reason. Otherwise it is super. Lestat Posted October 8, 2011 Share Posted October 8, 2011 Nice use of the Mk.3 Boarding Marine and BA bitz (I picked up 2 of these Marines myself at Games Day) My only critique would be that the shoulder wing is at a slightly strange angle - it looks almost at right-angles to the pad itself. Maybe try lessening the angle slightly so it is a little flatter against the shoulder pad. This should look good painted up in purple and gold - I'll be keeping an eye on this! I'd recommend adding a wing to the left shoulder instead of the right, as with the massive sword already on his right, the wing on top makes his outline seem a bit lopsided. Someone else has made Lucius from the FW boarding captain, I don't know if it inspired you (probably not, it's a french blog^^). The flash or lamp takes it out a bit in the first pic, but the shoulder pad-trim looks good. Oh, and how did you do it? However, my problem with it is that you completely ignored the source image as the basis for Lucius. The armour types are completely different, the only thing that makes him lucius is the name, sword and that he is purple.
