You can see he looks okay the armour is a bit messy and I'm going to touch it up.

I've made the rust looks better now while waiting for the photos to upload.

But I need help with the papers and gun and the bone bits.

Can anyone tell me how I could improve them I need help with the writing on the papers.

Anything else you think i need to improve and tell me how to do it too thanks.

I will add photo when progress is made once he is finished I will add him to the storm lords WIP blog I've made.

I can add more pics of angles if you want me too.

Is that supposed to battle damage or camouflage? Either way I think that it is too many busy paint details on an already very dynamic model.

When I did this guy, I painted the parchment in a base coat of a 50/50 mix of Vallejo Beige Brown and Ivory. Then using beige brown, I light scribed the text lines. After that I used Sepia, Mud and Black washes to add the texture to the parchment.

The way I do scroll work is with the smallest brush I can can get my hands on. The most important thing to remember is getting up strokes and to separate lines (to imitate letters/words). It's very easy, whether you're using a brush, a tooth pick, or a micron pen, to make zebra stripes instead of scroll work. I really recommend a quick practice round on a paper towel or piece of paper. Once or twice through will do wonders for your technique and confidence.

For the gun, it looks pretty good, you might just want to wash it once more and then reapply your final highlight to give it a little more depth, as there doesn't appear to be any shadows on the metal bits. And brown metals looks great with a final, very sparse highlight in silver. Counterintuitive, I know. But trust me, it works wonders.

Your bone looks pretty good, although maybe (if you really weren't satisfied) you could try to line the recesses with some brown wash to make the white really pop. The problem is that what is usually the shade of bone colors (brown) is used extensively on the model for your rust effect (which I really like, I'm not trying to tell you to change it). So that may further blend the bone into the model, which is the last thing you want to do. Maybe consider doing that same shading technique but with red/blue? Although that wouldn't look like bone exactly. I think it looks good the way it is.

Hopefully that helps.

Thanks I'm going to take both of your guys advised.I may leave some of the rust effects on but remove most because I can see that it looks to busy. I will begin practising writing effects on some paper. Redfinger I also like how you put reds and greens on the symbol thing and I might do that too

Hi update Time!

Almost done me thinks. ;) I think he looks cool, any tips on improving him? I think I Just need to do shoulder and jump pack.

For the white shoulder should I make it clean or dirty/dusty? I still need to do the skull on it. Just a few more things then he will be done.

Still not happy with the gun and need to paint over the boot. So what do you think?
