Chef Wulfen
im not the best at modeling but im always down to try something atleast once. thats my out look in my job as a chef because if you dont taste different foods how do you know what it tastes like. i have this wonderful idea for a honor guard for my WL but my honor guard all uses 2handed weapons. now for that ill be doing alot of GKT bit bashing. and i was wondering if there was some bit that all my brothers and sisters can point out that would be a good weapons head for them. now i have this crazy idea for a weapon for one of my honor guard and my WL i was thinking of a buster sword for one and a large mace head for my WL but im not sure how to go bout it i have read alot of people using plasticboard(?) and would that my best way to go for it. thanks for looking at this post and for any help. Wulfebane
Just about any hefty weapon from the new Ogre Kingdoms line would make for excellent 2H weapons for that viking/barbaric feel. hendrik
it doesn't have a viking vibe to it but man i love 'em; http://bjorn.foxtail.nu/images/lucernehammer.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240044-looking-for-some-help/#findComment-2896437 Share on other sites
Wulfebane
Well... that image is a war hammer (irony!). The movie link shows a poleax. Best use I've seen from a war hammer comes from the first army battle in Braveheart. *WARNING* - Not suitable for children. It certainly illustrates the phrase, "Driving it home." -Volsung-
The warhammer fantasy line has all sorts of weapons you might be interested in. Dwarves, Orcs, even the Chaos Marauders and Beastmen might have suitable weaponry. I'm not exactly sure what you are looking for in terms of 2h weapons. Perhaps a sketch of your brainstormed idea might come in handy in allowing us to find what would be the best piece to use in modeling said conversion? :cuss Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240044-looking-for-some-help/#findComment-2896550 Share on other sites

MaleOpener
Never was a fan of the 2h-axe in the SW box, so I just cut it up for other conversions ... But that's not the point, now is it? You could just use the weapons/arms of the GK box, adding SW accessories where needed ( though I love the sword-in-head piece ). Changing the head of a GK halberd, is just a matter of a snip-and-clip, and slapping on the weapon head you want. Finding bit sellers on e-bay is far cheaper than buying bits, or box sets, from GW. Chef Wulfen
http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/uploads...6205_830442.jpg im not the best drawer by any means. the mace head i was thinking bout would be bigger then your normal thunder hammer head. i might look at some ogers and see what i can find. i think i found the perfect head for my thunder hammer the one off the ogre kingdom firebelly. now i just need to see if it would look ok on him. Wulfebane
Yes, the firebelly was one I was going to recommend, but went with all the ogre weapons. I imagine you can achieve a buster sword from simple plasticard on a normal sword hilt (perhaps extended) and it should look fine.
