Beef
As some of you might be aware I have a tournie this weekend. I have been franticly trying to paint up an army for this event. I am nearly done, Just a Drop pod, Arjacks cloah and anvil and finishing touches to Landraider no 2 left to do. Oh yeah and the bases. So I would like to see how fellow wolves have based their models in snow. I know its Cliche but I have only done this once before in all my years and for the life of me I cant remember what I used. Probably polli filler or some other form of DIY crack filler. I always wanted snow bases and finally decided its time to give them another go. So please post your pics and Let me know how you did it. Preferably before the weekend. Sorry its so last minute but between 12 hour work shifts and getting my kitchen and bathroom re done and home life i am really behind scedule. Luckilly I am off work on Friday so can spend most of the day catching up. Or any good tutorials here or online. CainTheHunter
Army Painter snow for beginning. Once the PVA glue is dry, start building more snow and add some gravel and static grass. Beef
do you build up more layers by just adding more PVA and then the snow ontop? CainTheHunter
do you build up more layers by just adding more PVA and then the snow ontop? Exactly. The first layer, when dry, usually tends to be very thin (either I am using not enough PVA or this is common issue). Also, I was using Army Painter product, not because their snow is better than GW or GF9 etc, but since You get more product for Your money. Brother Mjollner
I normally have snow scattered arround the base in patches as instead of covering the entire base... Also instead of PVA glue I use normal super glue "zap a gap" I think... after you dip it into your choice of snow... hit it with a quick spray from a kicker and your done, no waiting for it to dry.
