CKO
As of now the differentiating trait is that a Dragon Lord marine relies on his brothers more so than other chapters and they like to fight upclose. How do you plan on making their unity standout and appeal to the readers? It seems that you have a well balanced start, that is my only question. DarkLiege
Thanks for the reply CKO, I'll get to work on it as soon as possible. As for the question I'm not quite sure yet but well continue to think about it. DarkLiege
Well here's the color scheme of the Chapter that goes with the motto of "With Fire and Ice!" Hope you guys like it. Sigismund Himself
No comment guys besides CKO's? Right now there isn't a whole deal to comment upon <_< There's the nuts and bolts of the chapter but that doesn't really draw us into reading more. The stories of how you landed that 9ft barramundi are always more interesting than the technical details of the fishing rod you used to catch it :P The only thing that stands out is the lack of Devastator companies and excess of bikers. How did this come about? How does it reflect their character? Tell us who the chapter is. What makes them get out of bed and crush the enemies of the Emperor to a fine red jam beneath their boots, before eating this jam on toast? Tell us why and who they are, basically :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240296-dragon-lords-wip/#findComment-2901808 Share on other sites
legoss
I like the basics you've established but not much to comment on or add to. But I love that color scheme, it's distinctive and memorable. DarkLiege
Thanks, legoss and Sigismund for the imput. I know that the IA right now lacks "character" or details. As for the lack of Devastators, this is because while the chapter is under strength and not yet fully combat operational, they were doing light skirmish around their home world. It was during these skirmishs that the chapter developed the needs to strike hard and fast against their foes. legoss
That's a good start with the lack of devastator squads, but I'd think that without the heavy support elements your chapter would stay understrength as they'd seem to lack a way to hold territory they'd taken. CKO
I think the whole devestator thing is such a small part of his chapter that he doesnt have to put alot of effort into explaining it. DarkLiege
i have a quick question: what's the relation like between the salamanders and the AdMech? NightrawenII
I think the whole devestator thing is such a small part of his chapter that he doesn't have to put alot of effort into explaining it. Indeed, I would be more concerned about the fact that his Chapter is the (exact) opposite of Salamanders. i have a quick question: what's the relation like between the salamanders and the AdMech? The IA: Salamanders says this: *When the lava flows cool, they can be mined for other precious elements, pockets of gas that can be used to power engines, diamonds and other crystals valuable to the Adeptus Mechanicus for lasers and energy transmission systems. And this is how Nocturne survives, by trading its vast mineral wealth with other worlds, using its resources to bring in additional livestock, building materials and the few weapons that the Salamanders Space Marines cannot construct themselves.* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240296-dragon-lords-wip/#findComment-2904805 Share on other sites

NightrawenII
I wanted my chapter to be somewhat similar to the salamanders but at the same time not and is pretty distinct from other chapters. Well, there is thin red line between being similar, yet distinct and being nothing like that at all. - I would say you are already several steps in the later territory. DarkLiege
Although, I'm going in the exact opposite as the Salamanders chapter, it is still a good thing right? NightrawenII
It's not bad thing. ;) However, it requires certain amount of thinking and effort to do it right, much more than having Chapter with unique twist of the original. DarkLiege
This is a Rough outline that have been bouncing around in my mind before putting it onto paper and now here. Tell me what you, the people of B&C, thinks of this. i know its not the best. Hope You Enjoy this. Dragon Lord “Brothers-in-Arm” Intention: to create a chapter where bonds are interconnected(Each Battle-brother help each other in their own squads?). Rivalry amongst different squads, and sometimes different battle-brother. Thinking of having them fight Eldar Pirates. Home world: 2/3 ice, 1/3 Forest Death World Dragons are main species Planet known as Therbus, located in Ultima Segmentum Scattered Human Tribescomes together once several years for contest Forms bonds with one another Marriage Wage War?---> Light Skirmishes( plays into their Combat Doctrine) [*]Travels by primitive Gliders [*]Fortress Monastery is known as Dragons' Fang Recruitment: From the Contest and sometimes from warContest consist of: Strenght Speed Knowledge Etc... [*]Training--> goes through test of Trails Slaying a dragon--> in honor of the final test of Vulkan and the Emperor Etc... Belief: Emperor as God, Black Dragon refer to as Vulkan? Dragon cultEmbodiment of Brotherhood Twisted version of Salamanders' Promethean Cult Memorial under Fortress Monastery---> Honor of fallen Brothers Name of all Battle brothers Fallen in Combat Command Structure: Chapter Master: Dragon King Honor Guard: Dragon Guard Captain: Chieftain Librarian/Apothecary: Shaman Chaplain: Priest Sergeant: General Tech-Priest: Warsmith? Origins: 22nd or 23rd Founding against Eldar pirates in the Eastern Fringes? Salamanders Successor Doctrine: “Strike Fast and Strike Hard”, a Dragon Lord Saying Like of a blitzkrieg Style warfare Mostly Assault Marines and scouts(help oversee the world they operate in) Use Bikes more then any other vehicles “Strike where they lest expect it, that will be their downfall!”, another saying Changed Tactics when original was not work that well Suggested by Chapter Master and a Council(Chieftains) Need a little bit of help on the Origin section but mostly OKay, IMO. DarkLiege
It's Possible and more likely for a chapter to have less Dreadnoughts right? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240296-dragon-lords-wip/#findComment-2918234 Share on other sites
Tarbanger
It's more than possible. There are some chapters that don't use Dreadnoughts at all, many examples can be found within this forum.
