Draigo and 2 Solodins are 385 pts :P

There is your FOC in three models one of which very few people have an answer for at 1000 pts games all can deepstrike near end game to capture objectives.

 

Hey just kidding ;) you would not feel much love from anyone if you took that. GK have a wide variety of options and are good at 1000 pts Inquisitors are a go to for economical HQs especially Cotaez which leaves plenty of flexibility to work on troops and elites.

You can actually get a workable Draigowing at 1000 points; the biggest problem is getting stuck with one of those annoying cases of having too many leftover points to easily spend, but not enough leftover points to buy something else.

Mordrak + 5 ghosts

2x 5 man Terminator squads with 1 psycannon each

1 x Psyfleman dred

1000 points right on the dot.

 

 

Nice simple and 2+1 scoring units with grand strat. I found deep striking Mordrak as a sacrificial unit usually forced my opponents to react very quickly taking the pressure off my scoring units.

At 1k points I'd go with Strike Squads in Rhinos with a Brotherhood Champion to tag along with one of them, and take a temple assassin for lolz. Vindicare is a popular choice.

 

You could also foot slog either PA or Terminators. You have a lot of options.

 

In short, no, I don't feel the GK dex suffers much at 1k.

I would happily take Draigo wing at 1000 points. As mentioned you can fit in Draigo, 10 pallies and a lone paladin. Though I'd prefer a 5 man squad, a lone one and some other toys, as a 800+ death star is rather all or nothing at that point value.

Dude, you have 5 less Terminators than me, and you're forced to Deepstrike. 5-man squads are worthless in combat, you need the 10-man blob to be effective. WS4 and S4/5 is just so weaksauce unless it's massed up. Also, Mordrak is a gigantic waste of points at any point level, at 1k it's criminal how much he costs.

Except, you can field 10 Paladins or 20 Terminators, which is more than enough to crush most other 1k lists. Don't need anti-tank really (no one is taking serious tanks at that point level), and you'll walk through their meagre firepower. Strike squads are too squishy on their own, and they have nearly zero close-combat ability. 1k is all about breaking the game by leveraging powerful Troops choices, which Knights most certainly have (Tau and Eldar are pathetic at 1k).

If you cut off all the guns from the Dreadknights, you can afford to give the cannon fodder Razorback transports. Probably las/plas or twin assault cannon, given the Dreadknights will be stomping both tanks and infantry en-masse.

:D Oh Coteaz, you so crazy :lol: . Thats an insane amount of armour for 1k. Bit lacking in the close-combat department, but if nothing else, you'll overwhelm most armies firepower at 1k.

2 Xenos Inquisitors with Psychotroke Grenades and Inquisitor upgrade for the Force Sword and additional Hammerhand

1 Riffleman Dreadnought

 

Move 6 inches shoot 70 Strength 5+ shots a turn... repeat until dead. Should the enemy do something stupid like charge your squads with Xenos Inquisitors in them don't forget to roll for Psychotroke Grenades.
