BloodTzar
Well, i decided to go for a BA VV/HG unit (yes i will use it for both, i would just replace the novice ), however i am still not sold on its look. What you think would be the best "pack" to build them from? I am deciding between DC pack, or SG pack. For the SP i will use an converted arm (the flamer one) from this model: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-4000...TRAL-CLAWS.html The rest of the unit will have storm shields, lightning claws and one thunder hammer. Moreover what colour scheme i should use to represent a fact that they can be used as both VV-HG? Thank you in advance for your help Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240389-new-vanguard-vets-honour-guard-for-my-ba/ Share on other sites
Smendrik
I for myself use DC for the ASM, HG, VG and of course for the DC  The SG parts I use for the SG (of course) and for my character models. If you paint them in red with golden helmets and ornaments you can easily use them as both. One way or the other they all are "just" veterans of some sort Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240389-new-vanguard-vets-honour-guard-for-my-ba/#findComment-2901520 Share on other sites
Eorek
I built my 10 vanguard veterans in an ... extreme way... the basic parts of the models ain't that fancy...standard assault marines with sanguinary guard chests, all veterans have those terminator honours shoulderpads(veteran sergeant got the double layered shoulderpad from the redscorpion honour guard from forge world) you get in the command box, those double chaos chainswords(2 in each box)on 5 of the models, grey knight thunder hammer, DC thunder hammer, 2 DC infernus, a raven wing power weapon and a company command power weapon... and 10 of those veteran type helms you get in the venerable dreadnought box(1/box) <_< Looks really what veterans are supposed to look like if you ask me ;) though it required me sweeping my bitbox quite throughly + some trading... No sane person would buy a venerable dreadnought just for a helm...(really wish FW/GW made a veteran helm set) But when it comes to veterans I think that a veteran should look basic (DC kit) but with something that puts them apart... This would also work for the slightly more pimped honour guard. Eorek
yea ... i can imagine... I'd loot your space wolf buddies of claws and your greyknight buddies of hammers/finding some alternative company that makes em... GW really lacks alot of building material... Like a service with certain weapon packs would make any wargamers life easier! BloodTzar
Well i "choped" the top of the shoulder so i can fit regular shoulder pad, however the marine it-self looks just like from incredible hulk ... I am not sure if i dont like it in some weird way :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240389-new-vanguard-vets-honour-guard-for-my-ba/#findComment-2902401 Share on other sites
Smendrik
if you cut the arm at the elbow and glue it to a regular arm you don't have the hulk look and you can fit the standard shoulder pads.
