Dewi Sant
Quick question lads, Do I have to give my whole unit of TWC melta bombs if I decide to take them, or can I just give them to a single model in the unit as long as it is represented on said model? Any help would be much appreciated as always. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240418-thunder-wolves-melta-bombs/ Share on other sites
old git
It's; "Any Thunderwolf rider may be equipped with melta bombs..." (my emphasis). So it could be 1 or all of them or any number if you pay the appropriate points. Wulfebane
What the old git said.. also, I think WYSIWYGing them would be prudent.. before you start wound allocating and your opponent accuses you of moving the meltabomb from model to model as they drop. Dewi Sant
Thanks guys, WYSIWYG is the way ahead as far as I'm concerned. Lets face it melta bombs don't look out of pre-portion on TWC and will help me cover up areas and cut lines as I'm converting them out of the GW Canis model. <_< I'm thinking..... TWC Bolt Pistol CCW TWC Bolt Pistol SS TWC Boltgun CCW TWC Bolt Pistol CCW Melta Bombs TWC Boltgun CCW Melta Bombs ....as well as a pimped out Thunder Lord. My plan is keep them cheap while playing about with wound allocation and keeping them rending. Unit comes in at 290 points. What do you think??? elithren
You really should take advantage of the ability to give one of them a special weapon. Wolf claw or TH tends to be the norm, but it's well worth it to have 4 S 10 thunder hammer hits base and 5 on the charge. Brother Karr
Drop the Boltgun on the last Meltabomb TWC add a Pfist or Thunder hammer and a Bolt pistol. This way your fully wound allocated and have the 4/5 Str 10 attacks. Dewi Sant
Thanks, will see if I can come up with the spare points. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240418-thunder-wolves-melta-bombs/#findComment-2904538 Share on other sites
Chapter Master Ignis Domus
I might take a few Storm Shields, as your opponent will be targeting them with everything they've got, so there'll be a fair number of AP 2 and 1 shots directed at them. Scyld Fireblade
Always take a TH. 4-5 strength 10 hits can flatten a Monolith or Landraider with ease. 80 point model to kill a 250 point tank, well worth it. Plus the look on your opponent's face will be priceless. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
The look on your opponents face when you kill a monolith with a glance from a meltagun is even better. But yes, take a Thunder Hammer. And make sure you stick one Storm Shield on it so that you can lose the rest of the squad and still have an invuln.
