Grimdarkness
Quick question are all world eaters Terran as Angron has no home world to speak of? Since the HH nor there I.A says the legion ever returned to Angron's home world after his abduction by the emp. So that would leave terra there only recriutment world. DarKnight
That and I'm sure certain worlds that they liberated/rediscovered in which they didn't butcher every living person allowed them to recruit like the Imperial Fists on Necromunda. Yogi
There is no explicit answer written to your question. The Lore ignores it. But. I doubt they are all Terran. Simply because they are not noted for any Terran customs. And GW likes to give every Legion some flavor. In the same manner I doubt all Alpha Legionaries are Terran. Captain Tezdal
I always imagined they picked up recruits as they went along, from the most promising young sociopaths and bad@sses they encountered while Crusading. Chaplain ChonkE
Dont discount Terra as a prime recruitment world. It is a Hive World and there are billions (more maybe?) of intergalactic pilgrims who travel to see the Emperor's wall. Not even the Palace but the wall. Prolly talk to their friends about how great it is. I am sure there are quite a few homicidal ideologue bad-asses amongst the group. The jaded ones would surely have enough rage to fit the bill for a World Eater. "Yeah I spent my life savings travelling out here to bask in the glory of the Emperor." "Wall?" Dominicus
If the World Eaters took recruits from random worlds on their travels, it would not be uncommon; many Chapters nowadays do it, so I can't see why they wouldn't do it back then either. Tezzy
Until an upcoming book by ADB addresses this, it's safe to assume that's the case. The identity of a legion isn't entirely shaped by where they're from, I think even if all World Eaters are Terran, the geneseed of Angron - the Emperor's wrath - as well as direct influence from the Primarch himself and his drug implants would easily ring changes. A dignified Terran like Garro could be changed if the new blood in his veins was full of that of Angron and rage drugs on a full time basis for the entire great crusade. I can't wait for the sorely lacking fluff on the WE to be expanded, ADB needs to tell us what they were like pre-Heresy in proper detail and add flesh to the bones of how they came to serve Khorne. The simple explanation of 'they were a good fit' just won't do. Sturnn
Each legion was created on earth and all were taken with Emperor when he started Great Crusade. And as far as i know, only Alpharius homewrold had not been discovered but there was no more info in HH books. About Angron's legion answer is simple - the most of them were terrans, Khârn too. Very possible is fact that after short story in Tales of Heresy Angorn returned with his legion on his planet and take revenge on his previous masters and form this world new aspirants were taken. Grimdarkness
O.K off topic where is this idea that the world eaters where drug raged killers. The implant over stimed there brains making them more aggresive not drugs at lest thats what i remember from there I.A. Sturnn
You are right, they were using only implants. Some sort of drugs was used only by Emperor's Children as far as I remember. Grimdarkness
Just found this. Knowing how successful the cybernetic bio-neural implants could be at boosting a warriors prowess in battle, Angron ordered the Techmarines of the World Eaters to duplicate the process used on his homeworld, using the implants in his own head to reverse-engineer the devices. However, the art of this technology's construction had been long forgotten to the Adeptus Mechanicus and the early attempts to reverse-engineer it were often failures, resulting in uncontrollable psychotic episodes in the recipients. Eventually, the World Eaters Techmarines were able to construct working bio-neural implants that heightened agression and physical strength and endurance, implanting them within whole companies of the World Eaters Space Marines. On this site so take with a pinch of salt.Linky. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240456-world-eaters/#findComment-2906275 Share on other sites
Iron Lord
It looks very like a cut-and-paste from the World Eaters Index Astartes, though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240456-world-eaters/#findComment-2906301 Share on other sites
