Lord Avernus
I am a fan of the Exorcists Space Marine chapter, so when I decided to get into Warhammer 40k I decided on playing them. I have a problem though. How do I make the color that is on their helmets? I'm not sure what it even is exactly. Bronze, brown, gold? Whatever it is, I need to paint it. Here is the picture of an Exorcists Terminator in Imperial Armor 10 for reference. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2011..._Terminator.jpg I hope that you can help me with this. Thanks in advance! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240477-painting-exorcists-terminators/ Share on other sites
Brother Nihm
It looks like a light creamy brown to me. Try with Tallarn flesh + bestial brown mixed with a little bleached bone maybe? Alternatively add some Devlan mud wash to help define shadows/mid tones. DV8
Basecoat with a 50/50 mix of Scorched Brown and Iyanden Darksun Highlight up by mixing in more Iyanden Darksun Continue highlighting with a 50/50 mix of Iyanden Darksun and Bleached Bone Add a touch of Skull White to your 50/50 Darksun/Bone mix for the final highlight. Use Grypyhonne Sepia or Devlan Mud for washes, if you want a grittier/muddier finish. Vodunius
Its dull bronze, pretty much the same as most of the power armoured Minotaurs in the same book: http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb2011...ran_Brother.jpg I have seen someone achieve something very similar colour using a silver base then giving several washes.. but I can't remember which wash exactly *head-desk* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240477-painting-exorcists-terminators/#findComment-2905620 Share on other sites
Valkyrion
Mithril Silver with several sepia washes might work. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240477-painting-exorcists-terminators/#findComment-2906279 Share on other sites

Inquisitor Fox
I'm chosing to do my Exorcist Veterans helmets in Bleached Bone to match and pick out the bone color on shoulder pads and the like. It's a personal choice, but one I feel helps keep it simple but effective. Limits the palette, and ties in with other parts of the army. But I'll admit, that picture had me confused for a while too <_< Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240477-painting-exorcists-terminators/#findComment-2906744 Share on other sites
