*Furyou Miko
I've been reading the Grey Knight codex, and... well, I know how popular Coteaz pure-henchman armies are, or those that use Coteaz as a source of cheap scoring units, but... Henchman squads don't take up slots in the FoC. This isn't limited to the Elites section. The codex just says "This unit does not take up a force organisation slot." That means that they can't fulfil the FoC requirement for 2 Troops choices - because making them Troops and removing the "one per Inquisitor" limit doesn't make them take up FoC slots. Has this just been overlooked? Or is there an FAQ that says that Coteaz forces Henchman units to take up FoC slots? As Written, at the moment, you can have an army like this (Although you probably wouldn't want to): HQ Inquisitor Coteaz Troops 5 GKT 5 PAGK Henchman squad -10 Death Cult Assassins Henchman squad -10 Death Cult Assassins Henchman squad -Banisher, 2 Crusaders, 4 Arco-Flaggelants, 5 Servitors, Henchman squad -Banisher, 2 Crusaders, 4 Arco-Flaggelants 5 Servitors Henchman squad -10 Crusaders Henchman squad -10 Crusaders Henchman squad -9 Daemonhosts, Banisher Henchman squad -9 Daemonhosts, Banisher Henchman squad -Mystic, 2 Crusaders, 2 Psykers, 3 Warriors w/PA+Bolter, 3 Warriors w/PA, Meltagun+Storm Shield, Chimera Heavy Support LR Redeemer But you legally can't field the following list (Taken from Army List Reviews), because it has no compulsory Troops; HQ Coteaz Elites 5 Purifiers (2 Psycannon) in Rhino (Searchlight, Storm Bolter and HK Missile) 5 Purifiers (2 Psycannon) in Rhino (Searchlight, Storm Bolter and HK Missile) 5 Purifiers (2 Psycannon) in Rhino (Searchlight, Storm Bolter and HK Missile) 'Troops' 3 Warrior Acolytes (3 Bolter) in Razorback (Twin-Linked Lascannon, Storm Bolter, HK Missile and Searchlight) 3 Warrior Acolytes (3 Bolter) in Razorback (Twin-Linked Lascannon, Storm Bolter, HK Missile and Searchlight) 3 Warrior Acolytes (3 Bolter) in Razorback (Twin-Linked Lascannon, Storm Bolter, HK Missile and Searchlight) 3 Warrior Acolytes (3 Bolter) in Razorback (Twin-Linked Lascannon, Storm Bolter, HK Missile and Searchlight) 3 Warrior Acolytes (3 Bolter) in Razorback (Twin-Linked Lascannon, Storm Bolter, HK Missile and Searchlight) 3 Warrior Acolytes (3 Bolter) in Razorback (Twin-Linked Lascannon, Storm Bolter, HK Missile and Searchlight) Heavy Support 5 Purgators (2 Psycannon) in Rhino (Searchlight, Storm Bolter and HK Missile) 5 Purgators (2 Psycannon) in Rhino (Searchlight, Storm Bolter and HK Missile) 5 Purgators (2 Psycannon) in Rhino (Searchlight, Storm Bolter and HK Missile) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240542-coteaz/ Share on other sites
JamesI
I believe the FAQ makes it so they take up Troops slots if used in a Coteaz army. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240542-coteaz/#findComment-2903815 Share on other sites

thade
Yea, they fixed this already with the FAQ. ^_^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240542-coteaz/#findComment-2903874 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
A new question: Three of your Warriors in each Henchman squad can take special equipment. The way it reads, you can create a 50 point-odd Warrior by giving her Power Armour, a Meltagun and a Storm Shield. Is this true? Because that model sounds awesome. (Also, why is a Warrior with PS and SS three times the price of a Crusader who is otherwise identical?!) Inquisitor Fox
Short version: Yup, it is  Happy modelling! Long version: as far as the price upgrade, I've no real idea. I assume it's because they're not necessary thinking in terms of combinations, and the warrior henchmen is kinda the default for "any wacky thing we haven't invented yet". thade
Since the old WH/DH books are now gone and there are no weapons that ignore invulnerable saves (while still potentially allowing armor saves...the Necron melee weapons not withstanding) there's really no reason to take a storm shield (3++) and power armor (3+) on a model when it may take one or the other. <3 Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240542-coteaz/#findComment-2904033 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
That's true... hehe, I guess it would be a bit of a waste to use a Shieldbreaker on a henchman. On the other hand, a Sororitas with a Storm Shield and a Meltagun would look awesome, would it not? *Furyou Miko
Haha, I'll see what I can do. I do have a Sister whose pose might be manageable... or I guess I could use a Canoness, but I'd have to buy a new one for that and I can't afford food right now. Liba terminatus
I want to see pics too :jaw:... You could try rationing food :P Hang on, I'm pretty sure necrons have "Anti-invulnerable" gear. But perhaps for not much longer ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240542-coteaz/#findComment-2906878 Share on other sites
*Furyou Miko
Everything in the Necron army that can ignore Invulnerable saves also ignores normal saves. Also, I think I might actually have the bitz already... although it does mean magnetising my Heavy Bolter, which I kinda didn't want to waste magnets on (not when I'm converting a second Valkyrie for full weapons options, anyway!)
