Librarians in the Death Company?

So, let's say I'm a Blood Angel Librarian, or maybe I'm from one of the successor chapters, whatever. Doesn't matter. All of a sudden, bam, I have that dream again where I am Sanguinius and I'm killing traitors yadda yadda. So, what can I expect? Is Astorath the Grim just gonna cut my head off on principle because of the threat I pose, or do I get to seek glory in death like the rest of these shmucks? The BA codex leaves it kinda uncertain.

Guessing this would be rare due to the additional screening and conditioning for libbys, but agree that they don't get to wonder around with the thirst. Too dangerous. Of course, anything can be rationalized in a universe that starts with a 10,000 year old zombie god ruling the galactic empire of man.

Well... They do have deathcompany dreadnoughts that needs to be shut down by an emp grenade cause it's dangerous going anywhere near them...So a librarian can't be that bad :P... (cept if he goes overboard and becomes a warp portal or something...)

The codex is quite clear on this, I believe.

Psykers are too dangerous if they can't restrain their minds, and that's just what happens when affected by the Black Rage. Deamons or other warp-born entities could use his body to enter reality or the psyker himself could open a warp portal by mere accident, as he is not able to control himself anymore.

So from a pure fluff perspective, no. DC psykers are slain immediately.

They get inducted into the DC like everyone else, if you read Mephiston's bio it says he was a Librarian named Calistarius before he fell to the rage during the 2nd War for Armageddon (during the defense of Hive Tempestora I think).

Given how Sanguinius himself was a psyker they may still resist the warp's influence as he would have given that they think they are him...

It will probabaly also depend on how far gone he is, against the chance for him to die in combat... if he's on Baal, with no chance of combat - execution is the only sensible answer - if he's just at the initial stages of falling, and he's 2 days out from a planetary assault against the enemies of the Emperor then he's probably got the time to go out fighting. Not all members of the Death Company are fully frothing-at-the-mouth loonies... Some choose to join because they can feel their control fading...

Thanks for all the replies! It seems like the answer is: "depends on the circumstances."

I agree with Black Orange. Psykers receive a ton of mental training in order to control their psychic powers. With that level of mental control, Librarians would probably have the best chances of resisting the Black Rage.

I couldn't say for sure, but the story of Mephiston as Brother Calistarius does set the precedent. A libby who falls to the black rage would be inducted into the death company like any other. Who knows? Perhaps the rage blinds them to their own powers as they try to set upon their foes with their bolters and chainswords, or there is the another idea. I may have misread something somewhere, but if I remember correctly Sanguinius was a psyker himself. Not to the degree that Magnus was, but it's common knowledge (or at least legend) that he had the gift of foresight. If that's the case, it's possible that the librarian, under the delusion that he is Sanguinius, would use his power as the Lord of Angels would on the battlefield. And if Sanguinus WASN'T the type of psyker to have powers that would be useful on the battlefield, then a man under the assumption that he was Sanguinius probably wouldn't think to use them himself, which brings me back to my first option.
