Midnightmare
Greetings guys, After being out of the hobby for a little bit I finally got round to having a couple of games in recently with my Blood Angels. Very enjoyable but as my army was lined up I realised how much I dislike yellow headed assault marines. When I signed up for BA it was amongst other things because I like the all red colour scheme, and now I feel that because of the predominance of RAS over Tac’s that my BA now look like a yellow headed successor! I also seem to be leaning towards a more obvious vampiric theme so I have been thinking that it is time to turn my back on my parent Chapter (metaphorically; I’m still a Blood Angel’ yo!). After much deliberation running a more hard core, sinister successor, namely the Flesh Eaters. Here is my first test grunt; I’m fairly happy at how he turned out:- http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh190/MidnightRunner81/1-9.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh190/MidnightRunner81/4-8.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh190/MidnightRunner81/5-7.jpg http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh190/MidnightRunner81/6-7.jpg I’m well aware of Chaplain Desmodus and his superb work (check them out @ flesheaters.net) but my boys will be wearing the original RT scheme of red with white trim, and it shouldn’t be to difficult to apply to my current BA. With a heavy dose of the Vampire theme I love going on (inspired by Desmodus) and with the white detailing with my usual blood/guts look hopefully they will look quite striking on the table top. Conclusion; I know I must be mad repainting and repackaging a practically finished army, but are they ever finished? And the thirst makes us do the craziest things. Let me know what you think…

Drachnon
I never bothered with painting the helmets the proper colour :D they're all red with me. Never had any real complaints about it either. Also I also like the BA colour scheme so much I used it on my GK as well :P
Midnightmare
Hey guys thanks for the comments; I was going for a nice gritty look that wouldn't take to long to add to the rest of my army. I was contemplating the Knights of Blood but it would be difficult to change my scheme to theirs (esp the vehicles). Seems to be working as I have ripped through my Tactical squad bar the Sergeant who are now Flesh Eaters. @ Brother_Fatiswon it is a head I know well as I have used it in my DC and also check the Termi on my avatar ;) @ Tellos05 its a red I have been using for a while:- Chaos Black undercoat Scorched Brown over the whole mini Mechrite Red, taking care to leave the brown showing in the recesess Highlight with Blood Red (I blend up to this over the larger areas) Final highlight with Blazing Orange to the most prominent edges Weather to suit :teehee:
Grimdarkness
They look good my only complaint is the chapter badge looks like an ork glyph.
Hyaenidae
They look good my only complaint is the chapter badge looks like an ork glyph. It is the current Chapter symbol for the Flesh Eaters... http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/mediawiki/images/3/38/Flesheatersmini.jpg And looks a heck of a lot better than the original Flesh Eater symbol :P http://lh4.ggpht.com/_v-QnkPLGATg/TNQmDubx9hI/AAAAAAAABcU/wXUk5iBXxmQ/beakie_lg.jpg Excellent work, Midnight! I myself was slightly disgusted that GW casually put the Flesh Eaters, one of the original Rogue Trader chapters, to death in the Recent BA codex. Please, please, please keep on with this project; I'm very excited to see what else you can do with these fellas!
Midnightmare
They look good my only complaint is the chapter badge looks like an ork glyph. Its funny, my brother has an excellently painted Death Skulls army and we did laugh at the similarity of the symbols, but as 1000heathens kindly pointed out it is correct(ish!) and much better than the original. I did try that but it looked like lipstick lol Excellent work, Midnight! I myself was slightly disgusted that GW casually put the Flesh Eaters, one of the original Rogue Trader chapters, to death in the Recent BA codex. Please, please, please keep on with this project; I'm very excited to see what else you can do with these fellas! Thanks for the kind words, project is a go hopefully I can do them justice. Watch this space (but it will be re-done dudes from my BA army for a bit although I do have new stuff ready to paint). And they are not dead, well not quite...... :tu: Cheers both B)
