lfbruss
I think he's more going for ways to stop it or counter it. Yes, I might be facing a Tau army that has this. I have heard the player brag about it and how well it works. Forté
Take the suits out as quick as possible and from range. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240760-tau-failsafe-detonator/#findComment-2907161 Share on other sites
KhorneHunter57x
It's not that great (with its horrible AP value), it's one-per-army (making it easy to avoid and not really a massive threat) and using it kills the wielder (which will be an expensive Crisis suit). The bearer must be alive at the end of the combat to use the Detonator, so killing the squad in the assault solves the problem. If it is on an Independent Character suit, then just get a Power Fist in there and smush him. Honestly, with the narrow requirements for activation and the power of the Detonator, I think the Failsafe Detonator is one of the worst pieces of wargear in the whole Tau codex. Remember: Tau in assault are still weak, FSD or not.
