Max_Dammit
you can model them with normal sm scouts but there far from the same thing But yeah, the heads are made for those scouts Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240798-are-sw-scouts-the-same-as-the-normal-ones/#findComment-2907462 Share on other sites

Scyld Fireblade
Remember that SW scouts are SWs and veterans of the chapter. They will never have the fresh of the production line look of codex scouts and they will likely carry alot of trophies from their favorite kills. hendrik
and they will likely carry alot of trophies from their favorite kills. aye, because nothing says stealth more then a big rack of throphies around your belt, especially those chaos helmets banging against eachother :P Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240798-are-sw-scouts-the-same-as-the-normal-ones/#findComment-2907568 Share on other sites
Grey Mage
Scalps, pelts, and other lightweights maybe though.... *shrugs* Im thinking thats more of a personal preference thing eh?. That being said- C:SM scouts are new recruits, not even full marines yet. C:SW scouts are just shy of being wolf gaurd, and it shows when they get stuck in. Valerian
What's different about the SW scouts besides the heads in modelling terms? In modelling terms, there are lots of ways to do Wolf Scouts, but the simplest is to take the normal Space Marine plastic Scouts boxed set and swap in the Scout heads, and some of the weapons from the Space Wolves pack plastic kit. Throw in a few wolf tails for good measure. Here are some examples of my Wolf Scouts: Valerian Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240798-are-sw-scouts-the-same-as-the-normal-ones/#findComment-2907594 Share on other sites

Pelts, an ork tooth rather than a skull, a claw or a small piece of chitin instead of a tyranid's head, a tau bonding knife, or even a shattered eldar spirit stone. Their armour should be a little worn and their weapons should seem well used. That is my preference. It is also fun to give them a trophy whenever they perform some glorious deed, like bringing a carnifex down in melee. urbanis cassius
The pelts on the scouts above have been modelled on right? Is that just a SM scout squad with space wolf bits added on and heads changed? Lord Ragnarok
As stated sw scouts are not rookies. The are veterans and likely to stay in the scout force as they are Sw's without a pack mentality. My scouts are particularly grizzled. They have been fully painted but can't find that pic. There were no scout plastics when I created mine http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v365/hansmannstein/Space%20Wolves/WolfScouts-2-17-07.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240798-are-sw-scouts-the-same-as-the-normal-ones/#findComment-2907964 Share on other sites
urbanis cassius
They look sweet LR! I understand they are the vets, but i couldn't find any new boxes of SW scouts only the old metal ones and i just wanted to know if the normal SM scout box was a good starting point and model them from there. Is there any difference in the SW scouts you get in the SW battleforce to the normal boxset of scouts besides the heads and extra pieces? Scyld Fireblade
Is there any difference in the SW scouts you get in the SW battleforce to the normal boxset of scouts besides the heads and extra pieces? The battleforce includes a standard SM scout kit. The SW scout bits come in the SW pack box set, of which there are 2 in the battleforce. Wulfebane
About the only difference between an SM scout squad and a SW scout pack are that in the SW pack box, there are 5? heads and torsos that are meant to be used with the SM scout legs/arms. There are arms in the box also (such as a plasma pistol), but you can get the same effect from the SM versions. Mostly it's just fluffier. IMO though, I think both versions of heads are hideous for SW scouts.. I prefer using Chaos Marauder horsemen heads... Wulfebane
is that a metal Wulfen or did you kit bash pieces to make it? It's one of the metal ones. I'm still searching for a suitable "scout-like" backpack to toss on him.. if no luck, I'll give him a cloak or something. I like those Marauder heads, too, but just never bothered to get any. Oh well. Do you have a Wolf Scout pack geared for close combat, or is this long-ranged firepower pack your only one?
