Black Library shenanigans?

Something amiss....

Mate of mine 5 days ago put down £20 for a silver copy of Aurelian and at the time there were 52 left acording to the website.

Today Im browsing for possible new HH stuff and I see theyre still offering silver editions of Aurelian...... now call me suspicious but I find it difficult to believe that those last 52 havent gone in 5 days.....

Have BL punted this farcical 'Limited Edition' nonsense and then stooped in even lower and put extra copies in the marketplace thus further dilluting the already low value of the product?

Let me see if I understand this: you're complaining that a limited edition run's remaining count is higher than what it was reported to be? :)

Ermmm.... yes

BL's whole selling point for this scam was that these were "Limited Edition" and thats why there was a 300-400% price mark up and 2/3 reduction in novel length.

If it now turns out that they arent really that "Limited Edition" in terms of going way over the stated 3000 print run..... how is that anything but an even larger scam?!?

Something amiss....

Or just a plain old website error. Which seems likelier? The most easily discovered and pointless "scam" imaginable, or...?

Your bias - as subtle as it is - may be showing through the cracks, man.

No, No!! We all know that the internet is an infallible place where nothing goes wrong....where high speed connections guarantee a magical land of instant information and nothing ever goes wrong......ever

Epic dude, just epic.

You're complaining on the basis that a Limited Edition costs more - always has done, except in a few rare cases - and they may have misrepresented the run of that Edition?

To me, whether I agree with the concept as a consumer or not, it is a good business practice if you assume demand might be high.

But, and this might come totally out of left field, done buy it if you don't agree?

I think the most likely answer is that there was some kind of discrepancy between the actual amount available and what was reported on the website. I do not like limited edition exclusions but I do not think there is some kind of conspiracy over at BL over this novella.
