Brother Mitch
Nice job brother vader! I salute you! Was it hard to strip the paint off of the model? I've sometimes wondered about getting models off ebay that are like that, but they always seem to be near enough the same price as buying it new, so I don't. Do you just need to wait for time? And again, very nice rescue Brother. Yours in Zeal Brother Mitch Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240819-vindicator-rescue/#findComment-2907852 Share on other sites

Th!rdeye
Love the wear and tear it has. Subtle yet enough to say this thing as done a tour of duty. What kind of silver is that? I would love to apply this to my initiates.... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240819-vindicator-rescue/#findComment-2908080 Share on other sites
Marshal Severarse
That took more than prayers, brother. Well-done! May it blast the heretic back to before the Ward-Heresy! Brother Vader
Cheers Guys, @Brother Mitch. 48 hours soaking in Dettol usually does the trick for plastics. Just don't wash them with water straight away, brush all the gloop off with a toothbrush covered in dettol, then rinse in warm soapy water. Sometimes I use Motorbike disc brake cleaner, but this is expensive and I like clean brakes even more than clean models, so this only goes on really stubborn paint. For metal bits I use nitromors.....horrible stuff, but effective. It is about the same cost as a new one (give or take), and more effort, but as I have a bunch of old Rhinos it just fits in better. @Marshal Wilhelm, this one is actually missing 2 of the metal bits for the sides. 2 days after I bought it I saw a complete, unassembled one on ebay for not a lot more.............gutted. @Th!rdeye. It's just Boltgun Metal, but the lower areas have a bit of weathering powders on too. Edit:Edited for terrible spolling mistales. Glaeken Templaris
Had one of those old things given to me in a box of random 40k stuff me friends son didnt want anymore so gave it to one of my buds for a pint lol also ended up with a landspeeder that looks about the same as that vindy's initial paint job lol. found that a short bath in cheap nailvarnish remover and a scrub with a hard brisled toothbrush clensed the smuff like taint from it ready for priming and painting in the glorious black of the templars Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240819-vindicator-rescue/#findComment-2909435 Share on other sites
