how many minis do you paint a day

I'll start by saying i rarely paint these days, I'm currently hoarding and assembling, but back when I played (which meant I HAD to paint) I was able to batch paint a 10 man Tactical a day (TT quality 3 colour max, I finished a company in 2 weeks).

Cheers,

Jono

I don't paint on a daily basis, but when I do paint, I'll normally get about ten infantry done in a day, and maybe a vehicle. Granted, I do stay up till three or four in the morning to do this, but that's not important. ;)

Don't think I can put a scale to a day. I think I have recently just finished putting all my space wolf pieces together, which works out as a hell of alot of points. Got some simple airbrushing done on vehicles but even they are only 2 colours, not the minimum 3. I did recently get a nice 3000 points undercoated but when the paint ran out it made me realise how much I have to do. Then set to work making some terrain which got simple basecoats and dusting.

If I could get away with just doing a basecoat followed with a wash or dusting then my army would be complete, yet the details on some models just look to good to pass up and I have to make them stand out. Put that with a nice new computer, extra cash flowing around and a never ending stream of games downloading and my army is waiting for the day I get bored of gaming and in a patient mood to give the detail touch.

I paint then assemble then paint some more and with that method I can paint about 10 troops a week if I paint for a few hours a day. I just did the jump pack chaplin, he took me about 5 hours and I still have to do the rest of the highlights and some touchup. I guess I could do one model a day but I am a little anal. That includes basing.

I don't paint that often now... and I often do 10 mins at a time so... a squad gets done over a week or a month XD... However when I used to paint I was a lot quicker and spent more time painting... So I've done 1,500pt armies in a day.

Also it depends on your standard of painting... If I was actually able to do some of the amazing stuff people do on here it would take me longer to do a combat squad that way than to do a 30 boy strong ork mob using lots of foundation paint and inks.

One or two a week if I'm lucky at the moment.

My GK ARE fully painted (and have been since shortly after I got them. I won't field unpainted models). Even the stormraven and NDK are painted.

The rest of my armies are in storage until the house renovations are done (IG has 60-odd infantry models to paint but they are an army that has been WIP for 15 years, so they can wait a little longer).

Law school eats at my hobby time, so the rare day I get free I want to play. Last semester I did 1 hour of hobby a day, and it took me 3 weeks with that much time each day to do 10 jump packers from assembly to finishing highlights and sealant. I convert and do a lot of terrain, but am not happy with my painting skills to really find it rewarding.
repending on my days off during the week (working 12.5 hr shifts with a rotating schedule), and which army i'm painting that day, I can get anywhere from 10 Raven Guard in a few hours to 5-10 Space Wolves/Imperial Guard in 2-3 days. all depends on the amount of base and detail I need to do.
I have found that the longer I am in the hobby (over 20 yrs now), the longer it takes me to paint. When you are a youngling, painting takes almost no time at all. Of course, your quality isn't very good (usually). Assembly and clean up are the real time stealers for me. For me, a standard table top quality marine takes me about twenty minutes to assembly and an hour to paint. I don't paint freshly glued figs though. I also paint 5 or so at a time. ICs and vehicles take a lot more time. I have a fully magnetized with all options SM Land Raider that took me the better part of two weeks to assemble and paint. It really depends on what the fig is and what it's purpose is. When I start painting my 60 termagaunts and 40 hormagaunts, I can't see me doing any highlighting or much detailing.
It really depends. If I paint a Tac Squad and have nothing else to do (lonely weekend or something like that) I can paint 1 Marine per hour if they are assembled. Usually I take more time because my girlfriend and cat are there and demand attention, too ;)

I must be a slow painter lol. It took me just about 3 weeks to do a 5 man Scout squad! and that's only to just about TT quality.

I am currently trying to do my Assualt squad and I have a commander, command squad, tactical squad and 2 dreads to do yet.

I think at my current pace I might have the Tac squad done by Christmas.

I have shaky hands so have to take my time, that's my excuse anyway.

It depends on what I am doing. I did a full repaint of my Chaos Black Legion this past spring. 100 or so marines, 10 terminators, 2 land raiders (the only vehicles in the army), 4 spawn, 2 DP, 8 bikes, 4 characters, probably more I am forgetting. Even with stripping the old paint it took about a month. This is the fastest I have ever done and it was a 3 color plus dip army. Minimal basing as well.

With my Sisters, I did 3 troop models at a time and took 2 days to paint and base at about 4 hours each day. Things like Imagifiers, DCA and characters took significanly longer. I could not even guess how long it took to paint my Exorcists and I still find more details I want to do with them.

Currently I am painting 1 model a day and maybe 2 or 3 days a week but I do not have a project I am working on. Just painting some space marines to have something to paint. I want new SoB and it makes me mad we don't have new models yet so I am distracting myself with something else. :)

I can push out one or two infantry-sized models (or bikes) in 5 days of painting. Of course, that's in 2-4 hour sessions and assuming I've already assembled and mounted the model on my painting rig.

One session for cleaning mould lines and assembly. Let dry/cure overnight.

One session to prime. Let dry overnight.

One session for the shadecoat and midtone.

One session for topcoat and edge highlights, detail colors, first sealer coat, and putting sand on a base.

One session to paint the sand base its base color, and assemble the remaining parts (backpacks to torso for most models).

One session to finish painting the base, attach model to base.

One last session to apply final sealer spray.

Maybe I miscounted. Looks likeit takes me a week to finish two infantry models at best. I rarely paint more than two models at a time, and rarely assemble more than two at a time either. Every model in my army gets the same level of attention, and I don't want scores of bare plastic Marines staring back at me from the desktop. :)

in one week i painted 37 power armor salamanders 3 termes and 1 rhino 15 flesh tares 7 nurgle troops 8 khorne troops 1 Slaanesh marine and 2 Tzeentch 39 power armor and 1 termi iron hands

It would take me longer than that just to wash them and clean up the mold lines.
