Heru2012
I haven't written any background for these guys, but I started them way back when you could still get individual pieces from mail order. I was going to carry on with them but after reading a lot of the tutorials and seeing some of the techniques on here, I think I'm going to start a new chapter to try them out. Oh, they don't follow standard codex markings. The original colour was that they were all going to have fancy backpacks and white helmets, but now I cant get them I've reserved the white helmets etc to the vets. Isiah
Not sure I like the smiley on the rear of the missile launcher (painted on unapproved by the chapter's techmarines I'd guess ;) ), otherwise a very good looking marine force. I like your banners :P. Cheers I Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/240881-my-homemades/#findComment-2909034 Share on other sites

I like your banners :). Cheers I Lol, yeah the smiley was put there as the girlfriend said they looked too nasty....this quietened her. As for the banners....I've just looked at them again and realised that for 5 or so years the Aeturnus on my company standard has been spelt incorrectly..... /facepalm. onipunk
Very nice, interesting colour scheme and a great monastic feel to the miniatures. Your painting (especially highlighting) has improved a lot with this most recent batch of marines, and you're really doing the colour scheme justice. If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts did you get the flaming braziers for the backpacks? If you don't mind me asking, whereabouts did you get the flaming braziers for the backpacks? Cheers for the comments! When I started the army I aimed for a monastic feel for them, going back to chapter trait days of old! As for painting, I changed the highlighting a bit on the black, and "painted" the black as a dark grey then subtle highlights rather than tron highlighting! The braziers are from the black coach vampire counts model. Back when I worked for GW, they cost me next to nothing for them, then I left and could get a pair for £1, now I have to buy a black coach to get 2.....so with only 4 left in my bits box I reserve them for characters! Heru2012
Update on my marines progress. I've done another 2 tactical squads but unfortunately no pictures of these except in the group photo ;). A test for a different way of doing my power weapons. I think I am going to go back and change them all to this as I think it looks alot better! http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae53/Lotan_2009/IMG_20120402_215459.jpg Scout Squad and Land Speeder Storm. http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae53/Lotan_2009/IMG_20120410_034052.jpg Terminator Librarian, looks a lot nicer in person. http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae53/Lotan_2009/IMG_20120413_234651.jpg http://i957.photobucket.com/albums/ae53/Lotan_2009/IMG_20120413_235134.jpg And a group shot of the infantry. Heru2012
Thanks for all the positive comments guys! Much appreciated! Quick question though, I need to make some objectve markers for the tourney, any ideas? I don't want to use the injured marine route but I'm stumped for inspiration! Hit me with your best shot. Good modeling and paint scheme thumbs up :D Cheers man, glad you like. I try to do the best kitbashing I can, I'm a bit lazy and dont like to use too much greenstuff(because I suck) on conversions so I use what fits what was in my mind.
