raven guard 1369 Posted November 9, 2011 Share Posted November 9, 2011 So you guys don't believe that the Alpha Legion's interference in the slaughtering of the Raven Guard wasn't an act of kindness from a brother that is only traitorous for the good of the Imperium and the later infiltrating and messing with Corax's cloning plans was because he thought the Raven Guard were a real threat if they came back in numbers? Kinda feels close to the compliment the Ultramarines got by being sent far away and not really being allowed to take part in the Battle for terra... The old lore, from the Index Astartes articles, was often passed along in a vague style, as if one was narrating a millennia-old legend. The Horus Heresy novels purport to give you as much of "the truth" as possible. In that sense, the idea that Corax and the Raven Guard didn't get off Isstvan V purely on their own steam is hardly shocking: like others have said, there was the glaring question of just how an annihilated Legion would be able to escape a battlefield/planet dominated on the ground and surrounded in orbit by their foes. As for how the Alpha Legionnaires could infiltrate another Legion? I don't think this is that far-fetched. With the technology and psychic capability of the future, all that's possible.
