Gentlemanloser
I know this won't work, but can't remember why. Maybe it's part of the Deep Strike special rule itself, but; Does a unit of Strikes that purchase a transport lose their Deep Strike special rule? Can they DS into play in their Dedicated Transport, much like Scout/Infiltrate carries over to Dedicated Transports? Not sure if I'd ever want to DS in a Strike Squad in a Rhino/Razor, but can't remember why that option isn't there! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241003-strikes-and-dedicated-transports/ Share on other sites
Something Wycked
Well, yes and no :D A unit of Strikes that purchase a transport do not lose the Deep Strike USR. They cannot DS into play in their DT. However, you can deploy the DT and DS the Strikes without it. Or deploy the Strikes while Reserving the DT. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241003-strikes-and-dedicated-transports/#findComment-2910457 Share on other sites
Gentlemanloser
Where are you disallowed from DSing in your DT? (I know you should be, just can't recall the restriction atm! ) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241003-strikes-and-dedicated-transports/#findComment-2910467 Share on other sites
Something Wycked
Because the DT doesn't have the DS rule  Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241003-strikes-and-dedicated-transports/#findComment-2910474 Share on other sites
thade
Because the DT doesn't have the DS rule  It really is this simple. Rhinos don't have Deep Strike, and Deep Strike does not explicitly confer onto Dedicated Transports (note that USRs that do specifically state as much). If the Strikes choose to not deploy embarked in their dedicated transport, they may opt to start in Reserves and DS (the Rhino is then on its own). breng77
It is more that you are not allowed, rather then being disallowed. The scout rule specifically allows you to outflank in a dedicated transport. THe deepstrike rules specify no such thing. So if does not say that you can do it...you cannot. Valerian
Scout/Infiltrate carries over to dedicated transports because the rules say it does. Without similar language for transfer of Deep Strike capability, we cannot assume that it transfers too; we must be told. BLACK BLΠFLY
Remember you can pull squads in transports using one of the Libby psy powers and warp field stabilization. Reclusiarch Darius
Remember you can pull squads in transports using one of the Libby psy powers and warp field stabilization. It's not really worth trying to set that up. Yes, you can teleport the unit over, but they can't disembark, shoot from top hatches, etc. You'd be better off just Summoning the squad outside of a transport, at least then (due to the weird magic of 40k that allows non-vehicles to fire weapons at whatever movement speed, but vehicles are prohibited gradually from doing anything) they get to shoot. I'm really disappointed with 'Summoning'. It sounded so cool, and the end result is...overpriced upgrades to allow vehicles to do it, it's interaction with teleport homers and servo-skulls is still a mystery, and it's a once-per-turn deal. BLACK BLΠFLY
I was just throwing that out there since the OP can't conventionally deep strike his transports.
