Lemainus Posted October 28, 2011 Share Posted October 28, 2011 I've taken a serious liking to the half red half black coloration of this Blood Angels successor, and I'm currently toying with the idea of forming up a smallish force of them just for the excuse to convert a little and paint in a new scheme. It was also a great way to rationalize buying a package of Sanguinary Guard. They're about 65% done, and please excuse the pics. Camera phone. I've gone for a much cleaner look on my angels sanguine (as seen in my blog [/plug]) but seeing the awesome work you've done on these is making me regret it a little. Lemainus Posted October 31, 2011 Author Share Posted October 31, 2011 The red is a monstrous Frankenstein of an experiment. Haha. Black undercoat, a few thinned out layers of mechrite red. Highlight the edges with Mechrite and Skull white mixed maybe 70/30, then again, a thinner line, with more white this time. Drybrush the red portion of the armor with fortress gray. Note: At this point your minis will look like pink-suit wearing fiends that have just done cannonballs into a mountain of cocaine. That is normal. Multiple washes of Baal Red, and finish with a watered down layer of Liquitex Carbon Black Ink. I appreciate the compliments! It's strange. But.
