Finished Tech Marine squad

The eldest wanted a full 10 man Techmarine squad to go in his non codex marines unit so I we got what GW had and converted the rest. The lack of fancy bits fits in with his back story as does the unit itself.

The conversion beamer came from a charity shop Space Crusade set. The flash has made them look shinier than in real life and washed out all the ink work!

The rest of the reinforced company is in the reversed colours, lightened ultramarines blue with Humbrol 153 Insignia red trim.

PS working on a Techmarine power lifter/walker to go with based on the Space Crusade Dreadnought. Needs plenty of work including a cage for the pilot and a enlarge servo arm for the left side.

I like the look of the walker, looks very promising! Very clever use of parts. The squad looks nice buit at first glance, it is very...dont know what word to use. Lots of red. Like the conversion beamer, nice little touch there.

Yeh I agree, great idea and the squad looks good. Everything is pretty much red though, hard to distinguish anything.

I really like the idea of the walker. I might steel that one, would make a much better looking Techmarine in Servoharnish.

Heh heh, I get it. Steel. Techmarines. Heh heh.

I smell an Apocalypse datasheet coming up: Might of Mars. 10+ Techmarines, 1-3 Techmarine Walkers, 0-1 Techmarine Dreadnoght.

After far too long doing stuff I have got the 40K models out again and over the last couple of days I finished the Techmarine walker

Its a bit rough as I'm out of practice but the lads happy with it and its out of the way now.

Still need to get some bionic parts to make the rank and file a bit more techy.

Yup that was the intention, had i been a better modeller it would have looked like a proper controller, tillted to one side, thumb hammering "fire"!

If I could find a old 40K war robot I'd do a mini of it hacking down on something with a weedy little tech priest behind it in the same pose holding Wii paddles (batons? whatever they are called)

Thanks!

since finishing that I've done what will be the Honour Guard for his librarian, he lucked out and picked up a unopend box of Grey Knights for 7 pounds at a carboot sale. Since Grey knights wouldn't fit in with his legions back story but demon fighting does we decided to use the weapons and some other bits with what was in the spares box to make up a demon hunting devastator squad. I'll flock and varnish them tomorrow.
