chmcclellan
So, putting together a Coteaz + MSU Henchman list the only actual Grey Knights in the list are 3 Ven Psifleman Dreads and a Librarian. 2 questions: - Is there any reason why 3 dreadnoughts and a librarian would be palling around with Coteaz and his (essentially) guardsmen? - How do we feel about an Inquisition (Red & Gold) paint job on the dreads? The Holy Heretic
"Venerable" might be a bit of a waste for those psyflemen - unless you have something special in mind for your heavy slots..? Other than that, just go for it. Noone cares how you paint your little dolls, you could just call those dreads admech killer robots - the Inquisition got access to it all :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241118-so-coteaz-and-3-venerable-dreads-walk-into-a-bar/#findComment-2911884 Share on other sites
chmcclellan
"Venerable" might be a bit of a waste for those psyflemen - unless you have something special in mind for your heavy slots..? A few thoughts on the venerable psiflemen: -The venerable rule stacks nicely with fortitude: ignoring a third of the vehicle damage table plus rerolls on the damage table makes it barely worth shooting at them. - BS 5 + Twin linked on the autocannons almost guarantees 4 hits -2 heavy slots are for Land Raiders for DCA/Crusader squads - getting those ladys some frag grenades is a must If there is something I am missing here I would be glad to be apprised of it. Redtoof
I'd say an inquisitor lord can request whatever he wants/needs for the job at hand. Simplest explaination is that he requested the units you mentioned for exactly the same reasons you have them in the army - psychic support and heavy firepower. Alternatively you can give them different paint jobs and come up with further reasons. I like the idea of Adeptus Mechanicus 'robots' for dreads, or perhaps even dreadnaughts containing the bodies of mortally wounded inquisitors? I don't see why there can't be a few of them hanging around. As for the librarian he could easily be a powerful psyker Coteaz is 'keeping an eye on'. Increased stats and armour over a normal human could easily represent psychic abilities. Iron Lord
In Siege of Vraks III, Hector Rex has an improved statline over a normal human, because he's had some genetic enhancement. Not all genetic enhancement is "Marine geneseed". The Holy Heretic
Or instead of having a GK librarian. Coteaz could have bound a nasty daemon into serving him - fluff says he is about to fall in order to cheat death already :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241118-so-coteaz-and-3-venerable-dreads-walk-into-a-bar/#findComment-2912202 Share on other sites
