FireFist
I recently found this in my dads half of the garage where all the manual labor tools(in general) are stored. I figured it might be good for stripping paint but I haven't tried it yet. It says it works on plastic but I'm afraid it might melt them instead. This stuff is old so its effectiveness might be reduced. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241185-paint-stripping/ Share on other sites
Lorenzen
ive used some graffiti remover on models before though it was an aerosol version.. it doesnt harm the models and will bust through normal paint pretty quick, seemed to be ineffective against primer though. worth a try to see if you get different results. FireFist
Well I have been able to test the stripper on a model and it works just as good as an overnight soak in Simple Green. It's possibly better though because it only takes a few squirts of the remover. It also didn't receive a long vigorous scrub as I would usually do with Simple Green. RobPhoboS
It's about £14 in the UK from a couple of places, so it's quite expensive. I wonder if we have a good alternative ? Lorenzen
in the uk our best options are... mr muscle oven cleaner, ovenpride, detol & acetone free nail varnish remover (dont use the nail varnish remover on resin EVER) on metal, engine degreaser and ovenpride. then theres various forms of brake fluid, caustic soda, cillit bang & fairy power spray. im interested to see what the effects of neat isopropyl alochol would do as its the main ingrediant in a lot of them.
