PyronusSouria
Those little squares and things that are on the legs and shoulder pads of Power Armour, how does one get them to come out right? I've tried just painting around them, but then painting the inside is always difficult and it usually looks messy. When I use a dark wash on the area to get them dark I still have to clean it up so there isn't a big stain on the area. I've even tried ignoring them entirely and then they also look silly. So how do some of the people in this forum get them to come out looking clean? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241198-armour-ports/ Share on other sites
puck
You could try dry brushing them. Personally I paint them straight and don't have too much trouble. The trick for me is bracing my brush hand against the hand with the model in it and then setting both my forearms on the edge of the table. This gives me a lot more control over the tip of the brush and is usually less tiring for me. Redfinger
wet blend your wash.....when you put the wash around the area, quickly before it drys, take your brush and run it a few times over a damp papertowel, then wt blend the edge of the wash with the surrounding area, when it dries it should look fine. Here is a model I am currently working where I have been using this technique heavily, look at the face and the dark area of the armor, those are just washes; Ashton Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241198-armour-ports/#findComment-2912844 Share on other sites
