Captain jOE
... to attatch to the bottom of my guys bases (standard 25mm) so I can put them in a metal container and safely carry them. I need magnets that are strong, but so strong that removing the minis will be a pain (or jeopardize the paint job) and not so strong that the minis themselves won't be attracted to each other on the battlefield. Any suggestions? P.S. preferably magnets I can get in the US, because...well...that's where I live. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer. thade
I humbly endorse K&J magnetics; I exclusively get my magnets from them and they have served me very well. I either get them as discs (1/8th" diameter by 1/16" thick) or cylinders (1/16th" diameter by 1/8" tall) so that I can fit them in arm sockets and door/weapon mounts while still having something to grab onto while I glue/green stuff them in place. Grotsmasha
My suggestion is to measure the depth of the underside of the base, order any diameter magnet (3mm) and make sure the depth of the magnet is the same. Then one each side of the slotta base or one larger diameter (6mm) per base. Magnets get their strength from depth. Captain jOE
Thanks for the suggestions guys! :D I found these and thought that they might work well. http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=D403 Especially since I only need them for basing. And they are cheap (comparatively speaking). Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241231-i-need-magnets/#findComment-2913193 Share on other sites
puck
A note with K&J: there's usually a clearance section link. Magnets in this section are a little cheaper and in my case almost always have what I need.
