tiny sam
thanks For support! here is the last veteran, Nerus. Nerus is a special case for the Ultramarines, too dumb to be promoted and too lucky to get killed. He earned his place in the 1st company by protecting the 6th company standard from an iron warrior vindicator round, half his body needed reconstruction after this heroic act. within the squad, he often use his highly resilient bionic body to protect his squad's brothers and a squad shot with all my progress so far. From Left to right Titus, long range specialist with his Mk IV armor. Herennius, Communication and intelligence gathering, he wears a MkVIII armor making a full use its upgraded communication devices Aquilinus, sergeant of squad Aquilinus, heroic and brave, he leads his warriors without any hesitation. Nerus, respectfully named the Tank for he has saved each of his brother at least 5 times, miraculously surviving each shot. Pacilus, the superior sensor and targeting system embed in the Mk VI helmet allowed this heavy weapon specialist to earn three balistic honor. Comments? critics? tiny sam
i continued my work on Nerus and the flamer guy (I'm still waiting my 1mm beads for the corvus armor...) i have a serious dilema on Nerus, should i put him the winged U on the right (his left) side like every other squad member. i fear it would be over charged on one side only what do you think? tiny sam
yeah I tried to shorten it the more I could but I have to left some size to fully fit with the elbow. I decieded to put the winged U for squad Cohesion. tiny sam
Marshal Sampson of Terra & Brother Cambrius : thank you, it's very appreciated! Idk if its the way u paint ur metal or just the lighting, but the head looks like the Terminator.... very cool :D Probably a bit of both, I painted Boltgun metal and give a black wash (Chaos black + water + Futur Finish) and then give a small brush of Mithril silver. but the main light source was comming right on that side of the head and may have made an "over reflection effect" :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241262-ultramarines-sternguards/page/2/#findComment-2941832 Share on other sites

Kerrigan
You should buy Instant Mold, so you can make better molds to create the Ultramarine symbols. Love the heavy flamer! tiny sam
wow got resurrected from page 3 ! Thanks every body! I almost finished the sergeant and will post it tonight (i'm at work now...) your right Kerrigan, but to be honnest the green stuff mold worked relativly well. the flamer was a tricky one to do as it is made with two flamers halves I found in my bitz box... hence the purity seal on near the muzzle and Roone3y, what's a stanley? I hope for them it's not that huge grass cutter I saw on google :tu: only 2.1 marines to go ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241262-ultramarines-sternguards/page/2/#findComment-2948548 Share on other sites

UltraRich
These are looking good I like the poses. The whites also look good. Im not sure about the bug U's though. I think a more subtle approach of painting them on would look better. (you also have a nasty wash stain on the leg U that needs cleaning up) Ive started to use shadow grey mixed with ultra blue to give a subtle armour edge highlight. This may help define the edges of the armour as there doesnt seem to be any armour highlights. This will be a good looking squad when its done.
