Doppleganger
I am thinking about making a fun list that abuses some of the grenades we have access to, but I have some questions about how they work at times. 1. If you are assaulting two squads and one of your characters has Psychotroke Grenades, do they activate once affecting both groups the same, or do they activate twice affecting each group individually? 2. If you have more than one character assaulting with psychotroke grenades do you get to roll twice if they are in the same group (ie. GM and Tech marine are both in a squad) 3. Same scenario different grenades. What about Rad Grenades being equipped to two different characters, do the rad grenades stack making the enemy squad -2 T? 4. Question regarding removing casualties with a roll of 6 with Psychotroke Grenades. Say the enemy has 5 characters. 1 HQ and 4 troops. They get assaulted by a GM with Psychotroke Grenades. The roll is a 6. The QC and two troops fail their test and fight for the GKs. The HQ has higher initiative than the troops and causes 2 unsaved wounds. Can the two troops that are under the spell of the Psycotroke Grenades be removed as casualties even though the QC and the two troops are fighting for the GKs? Thank you for answering my questions. I will likely have more later. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241333-questions-concerning-grenades/ Share on other sites

Yes he can. 6 isn't actualy that amazing of a roll as the ones that fight him he just removes with yours or his attacks that kill his models at a higher initiative. For instance you ahve a squad of terminators that have psychotrokes from a GM and you charge a bunch of nobs and deal 3 wounds that thanks to your force weapons kill 3 models. When he charged you rolled a 6 for the psychotrokes and 3 of his models attack him! Guess which 3 your wounds go... Yeap the 3 that failed their LD check. Not a bad result the old '6' but far from one of the best on those grenades. Hope that helps, Regards, Crynn Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241333-questions-concerning-grenades/#findComment-2914611 Share on other sites
Doppleganger
Thanks Crynn, I assumed those would be the answers that I got, but I wanted to make sure. I have one final question, though it does not have to do with grenades. If a GM joins a squad and they are in close combat, Do they only get to activate 1 physic power? Since the GM is a part of the squad, I assume that they would only be able to use 1 power. If this is incorrect, and the GM casts hammerhand, does it affect the squad he is with, but still allow the squad to also cast hammerhand (or activating force weapons etc.) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241333-questions-concerning-grenades/#findComment-2915129 Share on other sites

If the grandmaster joins a unit he may cast hammerhand as well as the unit he is with, this means there would be two hammerhands in play and BOTH hammerhands qoul effect the squad and the grandmaster as for all intense and purposes they are a single unit when the character is attached. Chapter Master Ignis Domus
Just for citation on the grenades: Q: Is a unit that assaults, or is assaulted by, multipleunits with rad or psychotroke grenades subjected to the effects multiple times? (p60-61) A: No. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241333-questions-concerning-grenades/#findComment-2915194 Share on other sites
