Desecrated GRey Knight Power/Terminator Armour

Hi all,

 

I'm looking to make a squad of 2 of chaos marines and am thinking of using grey knight armour as the basis for them. What I'm keen on, is any ideas about how people would go about desecrating the symbols on the models themselves apart from the obvious of filing it down or cracking the symbols with a chisle

I would do what you suggested, also maybe stretching flayed skin across the stuff you want to desecrate, making sure some of the original symbol shows...embrace the evil! Also try stringing entrails and body parts around them. And the easy solution is splashing them with blood.

I really can't see it. You could always swap out the shoulderpads and add a few horns and spikes to the models but even if you file down and/or greenstuff over the other iconography, the whole wrist mounted storm bolter thing does not fit for chaos and they would stick out like Eldar in an IG army. One or two models might work since they would look like trophies from past battles. Whole squads really strain the fluff and my ability to accept the army as anything more than a joke. But that's just my opinion; it is your army so do what you want.

 

So if it were me making a few ... I would ditch the one shoulder pad in favor of a more chaos themed pad. Add spikes on the other pad, one of the greaves, back of the right hand or forearm ... something like that. Add in a battle scar of some sort. Split in the helmet or bolter holes across the chest. Give the model some age with a few rusty highlights and paint up the one chaos shoulderpad in your army's colors as if it were new.

I reckon going for a few special models would be best. Full Squads is perhaps a bit much, but this sounds like a great idea. Especially perhaps for Sorcerers?
