New to Space Wolves....and Warhammer itself

Hello Fang brothers! I have come to ask for assistance. I am new to Warhammer, and a buddy of mine got me hooked by looking at the Space Wolf Codex. Wolf Claws riding Huge Wolves? I didn't need my arm twisted to enlist! Only problem I now have is that I haven't really a clue where to start. I purchased an army from ebay, but it is circa 1980's figures. I will be facing a Chaos Undivided Army as well as Orks at 1500 points. These are the mini's I know I have:

1. Ragnar Blackmane

2. Njall Stormcaller

3. Bjorn

4. Logan Grimnar

5. About 12 Terminators

6. Between 20 and 30 other Space Marines

7. 8 Fenrisian wolves (mods I am creating)

8. 5 Thunderwolf Cavalry (mods I am creating)

9. 2 Drop Pods

10. Land Raider Crusader

My friends know that my Wolve's are old, and most of the weapons are actually molded metal, so they will let me proxy stuff until I get some bits and other things. I guess my play style is simple: Shoot it from range, and use cover to get in close and personal. Can anyone help me?

This is what I was thinking of fielding:

Wolf Lord: Runic Armor, Wolftooth Necklace, Wolftail Talisman, Wolf Claw, Storm Shield, Saga of the Warrior Born, on Thunderwolf mount

Troops: two forces of 10 Grey Hunters each equipped with 1 Power Weapon, Flamer, Meltagun and Drop Pods

Elites: 8 Wolf Scouts with Sniper Rifles and Meltabombs. 8 Wolf Guard in Terminator Armor

Heavy Support 5 Long Fangs with Leader. Squad have Missile Launchers and Leader has Melta bombs and Powerfist

Fast Attack: 4 Thunderwolf Cavalry with all Meltabombs

looks a lot like my list, but id use more GH's, i'm not using my scouts at this time, just cant find the room

A small unit of 5 GH just to guard your home objective for a turn if needed is what i'm missing in this list

*takes a long pull from the tankard* Now that hit the spot. So, I will drop my Scouts and add a third rank of GH with flamer, melta, and power fist. No drop pod for them though, they will have to leg it out.

So with this type of force, what would be the best deployment strategy?

Personally, I would set up the pod-less GH and the Long Fangs in some hard cover, making sure they can see out, obviously, keep the thunderwolves and lord in at just off to the left, again in a nice bit of cover, Scouts just ahead of the main army (again, fairly obviously). Once the Drop Pods are available, and depending how the game is going, either drop them behind the enemy and cherry pick units or use them to reinforce parts of your army where things are going horrifically badly. Wolf Guard should be used for what I like to call "Smooshing Big Gribbly Stuff".
