OOP metal Terminators

Recommended Posts

I have a squad of 'Lord's bodyguard' Chaos Terminators that are made from the older pewter Chaos Terminators. They are very converted, splicing plastic legs onto the metal bodies, and replacing/converting arms with the new plastic Terminator arms.

The scale of new-to-old fits fine, and it looks good. I didn't like the older Terminators due to how heavy and static their poses used to be, with arms close to the body and feet close together. (But they used to be on 25mm bases, so it's somewhat understandable) Adding plastic arms will make them have much more 'motion' in their pose.

The arms will fit — sort of. I would suggest sticking them to the model using something that fills gaps, like two-part epoxy glue or putty, rather than superglue. They are slightly larger than the original metal arms, but IMHO not noticeably so unless you actually compare the two.

I happen to have a pic already of the really old terminator 1990ish, with 1998ish arms....

As you can see they are starting to get a little on the awkward side but still acceptable. The newer arms are even worse then the ones shown....

I have the arms on magnets so if you want I can updated photo I should have a few different weapon configurations....

Heck I even have the 1990 chaos terminators with the original arms and new ones if you want a comparison...
