How disciplined are the Blood Angels?

Guys, I've been wondering about Blood Angels characterization. How disciplined are the Scions of Sanguinius? I mean, think about it, they are constantly struggling against the Flaw, so how much restraint do you think they have to put daily to not fall to it? Or do you think that since they lose theirs mind they are not really disciplined at all?

And I wanted to specially asked this, are Blood Angels Librarian better trained in not falling to the dangers of the warp because of the training to resist to the Flaw?

Highly disciplined - imagine someone with a serious addiction, going through cold turkey every hour of every day. Ever seen Trainspotting? And they do this and still manage to funciton at least as well as any other marines from other chapters.

Resisting the flaw might not necessarily help a librarian against the dangers of the warp - sometimes its not a direct assault/attempted posession of the libarian himself, more a twisting of his actions and clouding of his judgement until he realises that he's been serving chaos for a while, by which time its too late to stop. The dangers of the warp are many and varied, after all.

I think that the Blood Angels are very disciplined. I'm pretty sure they have to be, how could they else hold the bloodthirst in check?

I don't know of librarians are any better at controlling it. Mephiston is a librarian, and he fell to the rage at one point.

Remember that there are alot of other chapters that are related to the Blood Angels. Some of them are more disciplined than others. The Flesh Tearers for example are not very disciplined in my mind.

agreed with the general disiplined thing. with the libarian, my 2c, they surely have to be more controlled due the the fear of what they could do if they fall to either the rage/thirst or the warp one could cause havvok when mixed with the other. knowing that you would have to be better trained than average, and more cautious with your training. not saying they are they best but they have to be quite good.
I would have to disagree and say that they are not, in fact, well disciplined. As far as I understand it, there are only like 2 people who have actually overcome the flaw (Mephiston and Lemartes IIRC). The rest of the chapter is always under the threat of the flaw, but it hasn't actually manifest yet. Rather than being a junkie fighting an addiction, I would equate it more with someone who comes from a long line of junkies, but hasn't actually tried anything sinister.

in comparison think of vulcans. Yes the trekie ones...

Anyway...for a long while Vulcans seemed to be thought of as emotionless and governed soley by logic and discipline. However, they are far from emotionless...in fact they naturally feel emotions so intensely that they cannot deal with them as humans and other's do. So they adopted intense discipline of the mind in order to deal with their intense emotions. When for whatever reason that discipline breaks down...so does the Vulcan's control over themselves.

some similarities there i think...

There isn't something similar to the Flaw. No other Space Marine Legion suffers in a similar way the loss of its Primarch, both in a physical and psychic way. It it wasn't for the strength and discipline of our brethren, every Blood Angel would succumb to the Black Rage while praying and thinking of Sanguinius on the eve of battle.

There is only one that has overcome the Flaw and he became so powerful that he rips Carnifexes apart with his bare hands. Lemartes is only able to suppress the Black Rage by his sheer force of will - which is another word for discipline.

So I may be a bit biased, but if you think about the constant struggle of the whole chapter(and its successors), it wouldn't be too farfetched to say that the Sons of Sanguinius are the most disciplined Marines existing. If there are other examples of such continuous test of willpower, discipline and self-restrain, I'm all ears for it.
