Hey everyone, new to B&C, but I have a few long running paint logs over on Warseer. Just thought I'd add some of my latest work on my Marines.

Gotta love the Howling Griffons.

Some WIP

And my decals, big thanks to everyone involved here for doing the work for all the decals that have been archived.

I'll have some more pics up this week. Feel free to check out my other logs in my sig.

A fine mind is a blessing of the Emperor - It should not be cluttered with trivialities.

Cor blimey guvnor - They are bright! This thread should come with a health warning - sunglasses may be required :)

But seriously, they are some very well executed models. Yellow and that orangy red are not the easiest of colours to get right as they tend to look washed out. I think you've hit the proverbial nail on the head though - they look fantastic.

Just one very small critique though - I'm just going to say "Bolter barrels" and leave it at that :P

Oh wow I know this is a WIP but there flawless! Thats gotta be the hardest scheme to do (except the storm lords) and you've executed them perfectly. Nice clean lines and a good use of the kitbashed armour. Very inspiring. How long did it take to paint?

Thanks for the comments everyone. And yes, I should put a disclaimer at the top haha.

  • Prime white.
  • Yellow: 3:2:1 mix of Sunburst Yellow, Iyanden Darksun, water. Apply to whole miniature. Pin wash with Gryphonne Sepia in recesses. A few highlights have been done in white, then inked with yellow ink, but you could probably do pure Sunburst if watered down.
  • Red: 2:1:1 mix of Blood Red, Mechrite Red, water. Apply as quartered. Pin wash with Devlan Mud in recesses. Select highlights in Fiery Orange.
  • Black, Adeptus Battlegrey, Fortress Grey for any black details.
  • Fortress Grey washed with Badab Black for the black carapace bits.
  • Knarloc Green, Scorpion Green, Thraka Green Wash, Scorpion Green again, White dot for the eyes.
  • 1:1 mix Adeptus Battlegrey and Chainmail, Badab Black Wash, Chainmail highlights for silver.

First 5 Tactical Marines finished. Really hard to capture the depth in the reds when its nighttime. Daylight pics are always better, but with daylight savings and a 9-5 job +2 hour commute, its hard to find daylight. Plus it cold outside. Anyway, pics.

And the Rhino/Razorback WIP. I stupidly sprayed the top hatch without checking its orientation to the FW decals I have, and had a 50/50 chance of it being wrong. Guess where it is now....Superclean bath.

Tamiya Chrome Yellow and Bright Red sprays over a white primer. A bit of an underspray from the masking tape in some areas, but I'm not too picky about it. It should look fine from tabletop distance.

Interior is an off-white Krylon spray. I had it sitting around from my IG Valkyrie's underbelly. Worked out nice. Gryphonne Sepia to shade and Adeptus Battlegrey via sponge application for chips.
