With no small amount of trepidation I'm gonna say that this looks......pretty good?!

Not a fan of Thorpe at all usually either in fiction (dry and sterile) or codex format (dull and simplistic) but that review was pretty tantalising.......maybe there's hope for the guy yet. Everyone has a learning curve :D

....or something like that

I enjoyed Thorpe's Acceptable Losses- partly since I was interested in Battlefleet Gothic and it was one of the first short stories focussed entirely on space battles.

Try Execution Hour if you like BFG. It's a pretty good book (and it's freakin' Chaos-tastic)

75 000 dead mean's the legion would have somewhere in the rang of 5 to 10 percent strength left.

Yep.

The review was fantastic, it has encouraged me to buy this book. I didn't realise the Alpha Legion were going to be major players in the book but i am damn glad they are, my favourites! Looking forward to more info on the Raven Guard though!

Looks promising.

For the most part I have always liked Gav's stuff, I found Space Hulk, Angels of Darkness and WHFB's Malekith and Shadow King all to be good reads. I did find Purging of Kadillus a bit boring at times, even though I'm also a DA player. Maybe the book was focused too much on combat. But yeah, anyways looking forward to this and one thing I always like about Gav's novels is that he gets the background "correct". :D

Also, "Ghosts of Deliverance! Strike back!" sounds completely badass.
