Kaika87
So I have recently been working on a project, my second army, to make a Night Lords counts-as Blood Angels army. Among my army is a unit of Sanguinary Guard with a Chapter Banner, and it may only be because I recently listened to the "Throne of Lies" audio drama, but I've fixated on one idea to use as a Chapter Banner. If it's even at all possible for a reasonable cost, I'd like to try and make something that looks like a grainy hologram of Konrad Curze being projected from a hololithic recorder (using a Necron Rez Orb for that). Trouble is, I don't even know where to start on that. The image projected could either be two-dimensional (like Inquisitor Drogan's message in Space Marine) or three-dimensional, depending on which is easier to model. Any ideas at all on how to do this would be extremely appreciated. Quixus
The thought that came to my mind first would be to glue a sheet of transparent plastic above the orb and paint or print an image on it so that it remains semi transparent. That way however one side will be mirrored. I have now idea whether this is workable. I sure wouldn't be able to paint that small details. It might be easier to do a big holo projector on a staff like the normal chaos icons. MarcAwsome
Silk painting, with wire to create an invisible frame attached to the orb? Hold it up to the light and it's partial see-through. Looks real neat when it's coloured. I've never seen one the size of a miniature though. Might be cool to see. It works like the concept of stained glass. Google it, 'cause I've never done it before. Edit: http://craftyvillage.wordpress.com/2008/11...nting-tutorial/ That's a pretty good example. Only instead of a circle, you create a tiny wire banner. Hold them up to the light to see the cool effect they give.
