Dhurrin
Hello all! I've had an idea in my head for some time for my DIY marines whom I've called the Beasts of Oblivion. Tactical Marine I haven't decided yet on their progenitor but it's either gonna be Iron Hands, Blood Ravens, Minotaurs or Astral Claws. The biggest issue I have so far with them and their background is that I would like to add a "cult" system into the chapter similar to the PreHeresy Thousand Sons and the Exorcists but I don't want to blatantly rip them off. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241679-beasts-of-oblivion/ Share on other sites
Lodovico
Hi Dhurrin. I'm still learning the background stuff myself... so other members could help you there with the cult whatnot. However, you should probably put up some more info about them. Also, the paint scheme makes me want to call them Guardians of Oblivion. Doesn't really give me any bestial vibes. But that's just me. soddinnutter
You probably should not try and claim they are children of Blood Ravens or Minotaurs. The High Lords of Terra tend to get their foundings from the more predictable and sane chapters. They are not going to be thrilled about a second founding of definitely not loyalist Thousand Sons honest and they are going to be even less thrilled at the prospect of a 2nd edition of the Minotaurs given the fact that they spent too long amongst orks and it shows. You could get away with the Minotaurs if they were taken from them in earlier history, 22nd founding maybe, before they went nuts. Of the 4 I would go with Iron Hands, they are brutally efficient and efficiently brutal and after 10,000 years of having to deal with them they are predictable. Also they get along well with the cog-heads and that is no bad thing. If you want them to be like the Thousand Sons or the Exorcists, warp-dabblers, then stick them near a stable warp-hole like the Dark Maw or the Gates of Judgement and have them fight deamons all day err'y day. Maybe they once observed some Gray Knights and decided that they was the way to do it. We need more info to give more tips.
