Loknir Ironjaw
Greetings fellow Wolves. I was just musing over my future paint schemes for my Wolves, and I was wondering how you paint the shoulder pads of a Wolf Lord in PA. I didn't find anything definitive in my dex so I turned to you helpful lot. My guess is you just mirror the Great Company badge on both sides as I don't think he would get a squad designation. What say you? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/241701-wolf-lord-colors/ Share on other sites
Wulfebane
Well, I don't think he'd had the Great Company badge on both, as one would likely have his own (possibly more embellished). AnvilofFenris
You could go for an honour badge, such as a crux terminatus or one of the many claw/fang/skull markings. Another option could be some runic writings, especially handy if fancy having the option to play him in runic armour at some point. MonSTeR
I quite like the idea of the mirrored great company symbol, in fact I use that as the pack marking for my wolf guards, I like the idea of the Wolf Lord treating the wolf guard as his pack brothers and keeping the symbol symbolic of both his pack and his company as one... It helps that I play Blackmane's GC as they use yellow and black as the great company symbol colours anyway. Loknir Ironjaw
Hmmm ya I don't want to try anything too fancy as I cant really paint for crap. So am I to take this as there is no concrete way to designate a WL in PA? So far I am leaning towards his own symbol mirrored on his shoulders. The honor marking idea isn't bad but what color would I do it in? Wulfebane
AFAIK, the left shoulderpad is the Company emblem. After that, where a wolf lord is concerned, imo it's at the player's discretion. All of AnvilofFenris' suggestions would work for this. Often people mimic the current Ragnar model and cover the right shoulder with a pelt or something. Alternately, you could put the Company emblem on the left and the GREAT Company emblem on the right, since ultimately, every wolf lord falls under the Great Wolf in hierarchy.
