++Warlords++

Recommended Posts

Well i've just got hold of some scibor miniatures which have inspired my latest DIY chapter the Warlords, a pictish/celtic themed chapter.

So far i'm quite impressed, the sculpts look great and i've done some assembly dry runs to try and get a feel of what i want to achieve. I'll need to GS a few areas and strip some paint, plus add a few other bitz aswell.

VERY nice, I've always thought we needed more Celtic/Pictish chapters, only problem is most of them end up looking just like Space Wolves but you've cleverly avoided this pitfall with you unusual selection of bitz, well done.

Tell me good sir, have you settled on a colour scheme yet? I'm thinking a pale leaf green with deep blue celtic knot patterns as decorations here and there (perhaps an indicator of veterancy?) with... Sky blues eye lenses?

Thanks for the interest, the standard bearer has a slighlty stooped pose but is the same as the others. It does look alittle weird in those pics, seeing him from different angles fixes that.

I have no colour scheme as yet, a light blue or light green are the front runners though, with some gold or brass detailing. Was thinking of trying some NNM with these guys but i've never really got into it.

There is no chapter emblem, but indvidual companies will display a secondary colour in relation to their lords heraldry. The use of animal iconography will be used also. I want each marine to look like a character.

cheers

I'd go with the green, and for the detailing I'd suggest Bronze given how Celts made use of Bronze weapons and jewellery. As for the Celtic knotwork design I'd go for rich blue like that of the real Celts.
