Female space marines are like Squats.. only spoken of in fairy tales, which we all know are fictional myths.

Eventually some myths turn out to be the hard reality, eg Atlantis turned out to have actually excisted.

And the female astartes is made of metal, imagin how that myth will be busted when someone throws that at model at youre head.

This is the correct answer.

Within the first 6 months of 40K, the very existence of female marines had been written out of lore. I recall there were actually two diferent "female space marine" models. there was also a "Space Santa" and two "Christmas Marines". I have all the miniatures discussed, somewhere in the loft at my parents' home. I also have the "space hobbit" "Irn Bonce the Squat" and even... "Worldburner"

Remember Leman Russ, isn't Primarch of the Space Wolves and didn't make planetfall on Fenris, he was born on Guranta D in the Gurantan system. He was an Imperial Special Agent and was instrumental in founding Adeptus Astartes Unit 4 whose homeworld is Lucan. That's the fluff in which there were (for about 4 months) Female Space Marines...

I rest my case.

Mr Monster: yes do. Please rest yer case.

Mr Spacefrisian: I love creative ideas.

In fairness, the idea of a female space marine army is not new, as Spacefrisian's image claims. However, GW decided to flesh out their lore in a different venue very shortly after the release of that product, thus eliminating all legitimate female space marines.

Trying to make an idea of female space marines "fit" into canon lore in today's 40k universe has been an on-going notion for the last, what.. 24-ish years? It has yet to stick, and I daresay no one has been terribly successful at it, or else it would be a widespread template for other like-minded individuals to mimic.

Where I commend the attempt, and wish the OP luck at it, but to say that it is creative is pushing it and imo it's doomed to repeat history.

While I despise the idea of "Female Astartes", it's very much each to their own - I just happen to be a snobbish elitist.

An interesting way around it though, can be found within the Horus Heresy Dark Angel novels;

Luther was not raised to the status of full Astartes as - IIRC - his body was far too old and wouldn't have no chance of accepting the implants, so he was given juvenat treatments and had his body enhanced by technology (rather than "genhanced"). Thus he was Astartes LiteTM

They're not Space Marines, they're just women who've been enhanced through various treatments to have stats similar to Marines. That is to say, close enough that they fit in the range of S and T 4 which covers everything from Orks to Genestealers to Marines in armour.

I would use the Blood Angel rules, if only so they don't have a mix of WS3 and WS4 models in power armour. But it's your army, do it how you want to.

I would use the BA rules so I could use this as a Sanguinary Priest.

-@ Spacefrisian, Why are you even getting caught up in defending your case. Relax, its your army do as you will, Explain it however you want. It should make no difference to any of us. you dont need our blessings or chastisment. whether GW did away with female SM or not or whether yours are gene inhanced or bionic inhanced or combat stim enhanced, its all good.

@Spacewolflars thats a nice looking female mini you have there, a better pic would be appreciated.
