Bear/Slavic themed Space Marines! HELP.

I like the Grudge Bearers as well, it has a nice ring to it without being overly obvious. You could also add in the fact maybe their Sus-an Membrane has mutated so that they don't need help coming out the healing sleep or need to suffer near death injury to go into it. Due to the mutation perhaps their dreadnaughts are more active because they can come out the sleep at will. Maybe also due to this the marines are healthier or maybe stronger? Just tossing ideas seeing if something sticks. You have a good idea here and I can't wait to see it fleshed out.

I have made NY own chapter of bear marines. I kinda went with a generic name and called them the shadow bears. They are a codex chapter using dorms gene seed. The reason for this is dorns preference for defense and stubbornness. They are a cc and heavy weapons chapter. They recruit from a feral world where the local humans revere the Emperor as the sky bear. Took the idea from the book eaters of the dead. The gene seed has a defect that causes the nose to be over sensitive and muscle definition to be much bigger than most marine chapters. My colors are gunmetal body and shoulder pad with black legs and helmet with bone trim. Hope this gives you an idea

I dont know how many slavs are here, but anyway I am one of them. And thank you for your idea to make a slav chapter. 

I see that you are interested especialy with russian - hence the bear and so on.

 

Regarding the slav background, it will not be the easiest thing, as we as a tribes doesnt have very typical army unit like mongol cavalry, viking huscarls, etc. in the history. 

 

But if you mainly interested in russia, try world "Boyar" it means something like Knight and should be nicely included in the name of the chapter or first company veterans.

 

However slavs are not only Russia. You can look for poland, bohemia, ukraine, etc for inspiration in names.

 

In the Warhammer Fantasy is nation of Kislev, which is combination of Lithuania, Russia, Poland and Bohemia (for those looking for Bohemia on map - its Czech Republic now).
