Any idea who the exact characters are? In the middle is obviously Kai, immedietly to his left I think is Tagore? Behind him I'm not sure if it is meant to be Dhakal or someone else, his size ma indicate Guatha but to my knowledge he never donned any armour.

Edit - in the backround I think it's Tagore actually, given the snapped Guardian spear he's holding

Can anyone shed any light/opinions, or even bigger better quality pics?

Cheers

However you attempt to resolve it, it never works out -

there are six Outcast Dead on the picture, but only five ever get armoured, the other two die first.

From left to right they are probably: Asubha, Severian, Guthya (because of the size), Tagore, with Subha and Atharva on the steps. Or maybe the guy in purple is Atharva. Kiron can't be on the picture, since he has white hair.

Well, there's a plume on the top of his head, which might be a crest or might be his actual hair.

But it's especially striking how big he is, and that is what the DG has been described as.

I think its meant to be Babu Dhakal, the Thunder Warrior.

I don't think you can name any of the characters on the front cover.

Neil Roberts often makes the artwork, without reading the book. At least that what he have told me, when I met him. All he properly knew about thw book, was it was about an astropath, and a bunch of astartes fleeing the imperium in Terras underworld.

So as with most artworks of the Heresy books, there isn't necessarily a connection with the characters in the story, and the art work on the cover.

I wouldn't look too much into it. None of the representations on the cover accurately depict the characters much. He's got the Luna wolf right, and the world eater with the shield. I guess Tagore too, but he looks tiny compared to the books description of him. This is a guy who is supposed to be able to punch through custodian armour and rip out their spines. A bit over the top.
